when are the hoenn remakes coming

Going by that logic, we wont see RSE remakes til Gen7.

Actually, it means that there won't be any remakes. Since G4, GameFreak has always made sure that we could connect to the previous generation. Only G1 and G2 are outsiders, until they got remakes made. So unless they break the mold and make G7 incompatible with G6 (which I honestly doubt), then they have no reason to make one.

Don't get me wrong. If they were to remake the third gen, I'd buy the games on day one. It's just that there's no real reason to do it other than money, and GF has often stated that money isn't their main priority.

I'd love a remake, but I believe in what Reindeer said. The only reason G1 got a remake in G3 was because there was no way to transfer your pokemon from G2 to G3. That is why Pokemon Colosseum, XD, and FireRed/Leafgreen were made. Those three games had the missing pokemon that were not in Ruby/Sapphire. And in G4 HeartGold and SoulSilver were made because who would want to transfer there Pokemon Colosseum and XD pokemon over to one of the GBA games and then to Diamond/Pearl.

Pokemon X/Y has most of the pokemon in the National Dex including Hoenn region pokemon. There is no need for a remake of Ruby and Sapphire at this moment . There have been clues about a Hoenn remake since Black and White so who knows if a remake will happen.

I think gen1 and 2 got remakes for more reasons beside the transfer thing. The games just got old. Nintendo would be silly not to make Hoenn remakes imo People would buy them. Then again, money wasn't an issue, so.

Ruby/Sapphire can transfer Pokemon to current games provided you own the game.
They other games didn't remade because they were 10 years old, the remakes just came out when they were 10 years old.
And no other game company remakes games "because they're old-ish and were popular"

Only FireRed and LeafGreen were made for compatibility issues, HeartGold and SoulsSilver were made because they wanted newer players to experience Johto (and Kanto) and they were not ready to move to Gen 5.

I'd really like a gen 3 remake, especially since I've become rather disheartened with Pokemon after X&Y and don't really trust them to make a proper gen 7. X&Y were fantastic in the beginning, but became so stale after you'd beaten the Elite Four. Gen 3 was perfect, in terms of story and after-story content. Gen 3 also has become rather detached, compared to the other gens atm.

Also they really need to bring back the contests in their ORIGINAL form. I want contests based on movepools, not minigames. Not to mention they could make secret bases a lot better looking if they took cues from other 3DS games.

This isn't true at all? From what i remember Final Fantasy has done this, Zelda games have done this + others i can't think of ATM.
A bunch of other companies will remake games or update the graphics BECAUSE they were so popular

Seriously though, Ruby was my first Pokemon game so i think i have an admitted bias to this subject, but i would love them to remake 3rd Gen. Realistically if they don't announce some kind of remake in the next 2 years, i don't think we will ever get one :/
