I used to love time traveling when I first got New Leaf. I couldn't wait to get the shops and upgrades so I would time travel, but as soon as I got them, it didn't feel right. I felt like I kind of cheated. I wasn't enjoying my town when I did that so I reseted.

Time traveling is also one of the main causes why I would reset a lot because I felt like the game was going by too fast so each time I reseted I promised myself not to time travel. Now I enjoy the town I have right now because I rarely time travel. (When I do time travel it's to check if a villager is for sure moving in or it's when I tt to the day a villager moves.)

I'm not against time traveling. Do what you want to do. It's your game.

Like I said I loved time traveling, but now it's not for me.

So.. What's your opinion on time traveling? Do you do it? Or do you just play it in real time?

Same, I reset because
1) I was unhappy with the layout
2) I time traveled too much >.<

I'm much happier with almost everything now

The only time I ever time travel on this one is for a villager ^_^

My opinion is if you wanna do, doesn't bother me.
If you don't wanna do it, doesn't bother me.
Each to their own

I agree with you 100%.

(Btw. Definitely unrelated, but I really love your icon.)

Time traveling is definitely useful, and I think I'll have to TT in order to do trades in the future >3> (newbie to online BTW) However, I refuse to TT for the reason you mentioned above: It feels like I'm cheating.

So far I haven't TT'd once and I am very content with my game and I learned to be patient and wait ouo It's so much fun coming on every day and seeing what's new!

I agree with the last part. I enjoy waking up the next day seeing what's new unlike if I time traveled all in one day, it won't be as exciting.

I do it and it's never ruined anything about AC for me.

That's good! My sister does it too, and she doesn't have a problem with it. :)

I have mixed feelings about time-traveling. Of course, what other people do doesn't bother me. Like others have said, to each their own! I feel like that's a good way to look at almost anything really.

Anyways, in city folk I time traveled A LOT, because there was only so much I could do in a day. I also didn't care about my villagers as much as I do in this game. It worked for that game - got my letters faster and my trees grew quickly.

In New Leaf though, it feels so wrong to me. I did it a couple times when I first got it because of impatience, but now I regret it. I made 2 bingo cards expire and that was enough to make me stop. Plus, New Leaf = New start. Time for me to start playing AC the right way! I'm determined to play this game day to day and make it last as long as possible. That is the point of animal crossing, right? Take things slow, and your things won't get ruined. (hint: grass wear... I read somewhere that grass wear is there to make us slow down).

I'll be short, blunt and simple with my opinion: I TT, I like it. It keeps me interested in the game. People can have their opinions on TT, wether they think it's cheating or not—I do not care. However, If someone looks down on another person simply because they TT, I will think you're a piece of ****.

When I first got New Leaf I never TT'd, I never saw a reason to then & I enjoyed the pace of the game. D: But once school started up & I got busy I started missing events and what not haha. That's when I started TT-ing backwards and forwards to play the events I missed. ;w; Now I also tend to do it for moving villagers out faster if I want to adopt someone. x3 but afterwards I always switch my time back to the actual time/date. xD I don't mind it though~ If people want to do it for whatever reason that's cool *o* For myself though I'd rather not stray too far from the true date. 8D

I normally don't have a problem with it but it did kind of ruin New Leaf for me.
Well....let me rephrase that. Time traveling and having dream villagers ruined New Leaf for me.
My dates on the town tree thingy were extremely messed up and my OCD got the best of me.
I slowly grew to hate my town. I didn't even want to play because I just hated everything.

On 1/2/2014 I restarted my town. It's a new year and my irl friend just got New Leaf so the timing was right.
I'm already loving my new town wayyyy more than my last town.
I find that I want to play a lot more and I just have more fun in general.

Personally, I never time travelled, except to go few hours backwards when I miss something. (But I guess we can't call that time travelling)

I don't feel like I need to do it. I like it the way it is, playing in real time ^^

I agree with teanigami, what other people do doesn't bother me. I don't time travel very often myself. If I were to, I would TT within the same day, just hours apart just to catch the store hours. I don't want the night ordinance because I have beautiful ordinance lol

Totally agree. I hate it when people are jerks just because someone TTs. If Nintendo really thought it would be wrong, they would have implemented more serious consequences, although that would be kind of wrong in itself. I'm just confusing myself.. lol. XD But yeah, I could say this in my ACC thread too, but people on ACC can be real jerks to people who TT... it's sad.

I wound up being one of those addicts with two copies, one for TTing when I feel like it, and one for playing day-to-day. The more I play, though, the more I'm finding I like the slow pace better...

I think if it's used for getting upgrades, completion of the museum, and moving villagers it's ok. The only thing I'm against is people using it to make bells.

I have no issues with others tting, but it's not for me. I do it in small doses, because I can only play during the night so I go back to the day to play the day, but that's it. I use to heavily, heavily tt during city folk, and it ruined the game for me. I just didn't feel very attached to my town, and I could never figure out why. So I'm much more cautious of my new leaf town.

I haven't seen it here, but on other forums I see people throwing around "that's not how the devs intended it to be played!" as a reason why time traveling is wrong. What those people need to realize is that we don't work for the devs, they work for us. Once we purchase the game, it's ours to do with as we see fit, so long as it does not harm other players. It may not be how they intended it to be played, but you paid good money for the game, why do you care how people you'll never meet think you should play the game?

On that note, I don't TT, because it's not enjoyable to me. But I think TTing is just as legitimate as not TTing. It's your game, after all, play it however you want.

I didn't TT at first so I did all the constructions and stuff normally. However, I soon came to realize that without TT, the game is impossible to play anywhere near its maximum potential. The game is designed to be time traveled.
