what's your opinion on the villager tiers??

before i give my piece, im gonna start off by saying i actually like a lot of bottom tier villagers, i have three tier fives- annalisa, shari, and yuka- as dreamies, i honestly just get what villagers i like. tbh i actually like the tier system in that respect bc those villagers were super easy to get. i dont hate the tier system at all, and im not offended or disappointed that some of my faves are bottom-tier, nor do i think we should be rid of the tier system. i think its a useful tool for AC economics

its a matter of demand. the higher the demand, the higher the price you can charge bc theres likely someone within that demand group who is willing to drop a bunch to get what they want. thats capitalism, baby!

personally, im more bothered by people who feel superior for having the mentality that ALL villagers deserve to be Equally Loved or something. villagers are fake, theyre as good as objects, no villagers feelings are hurt for being in tier five. i dont really think tiers are a problem, the biggest issue is people letting themselves be personally offended by the system. thats just my two cents tho

I think a lot of people don't understand that Alexi's list is just a guideline for newer users so they know how much they can expect to sell their villagers for. The list was never intended to be taken literally to judge a villager's "worth". This is a problem created by people who buy and sell villagers, not Alexi. Unfortunately, the list has become kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy in that cyclers stop to sell or auction their high tier villagers, but auto-void low tier villagers. The irony is that high tier villagers are actually very common to find and low tier villagers are rare, so in a sense low tier villagers are actually worth more since the supply is so low. If I miss out on a high tier villager, chances are I'll find another one being sold in a few hours, but if I miss out on a low tier villager, it may take days or weeks to find someone selling that same villager again.

The advice I give to people who are looking for low tier villagers is money talks. If you offer a lot of IGB or TBT for a low tier villager, then cyclers are much more likely to hold that villager for you because the number one thing they want is bells. If a low tier villager is worth as much as a high tier villager for you, then pay for low tier villagers the prices you would pay for high tier villagers. Then you actually make that villager worth more.

I think it's helpful for cyclers, but I think it means that some villagers are pushed to the bottom and no one ever sees them so no matter how interesting or cute they are, people don't know whey exist. The tier 1, 2 and 3s get so much coverage that you know who they are and it's easy to want them, I think it would be good to have a 'villager of the week' thing going to promote all the villagers that people don't know anything about and celebrate their cuteness! (I don't know, I'm just bing idealistic!)

I like a lot of lower tier villagers. I simply think that the tier lists are helpful for people who want to buy or sell villagers, as it gives a guideline on how much they are 'worth'. If you don't enjoy that side of the game, you can just play regularly.

It's completely wrong because Tom is waaaay down on the list, and he's super cute :3

it helps me when/if im looking to sell a villager or something but i guess it can be kind of... exclusionary? for unpopular villagers and the people who like them

I like them, there not saying a particular villager is bad or good just what's more popular at the time.

I personally think it's not necessary. I mean, the game itself treats every villager the same way. I've never cycled any villagers out. And I've only ever lost one villager among my three towns.

I'm a little mixed when it comes to tiers. I think its very useful for cyclers and when it comes to pricing villagers but it does make it harder to find lower tiered villagers since most people auto void them or assume that no one wants them.
