I saw an Olympic Trainer at my ice skating rink a couple of days ago, so I just wanted to know your opinions on the Olympics. Personally, I find the Olympics amazing, it's so cool top see such skill put into sports. I like the Winter Olympics more than the Summer Olympics because of the elegant figure skating, it's awesome to see the skill and technique of the ice skaters, and I'm a figure skater myself. Sometimes I can learn from them, but only when I observe them a lot. For example, how they get in the air so high. Anyway, before I get ahead of myself, what are your opinions on winter and summer Olympics?
You're either interested in them or you aren't. It's debatable whether they are worth all the taxpayer money that the host country pays for the Olympics. There can also be corruption involved. I'm concerned about the games being in Rio this year with the Zika virus scare and water quality issues. I know this sounds elitist, but I do not think developing countries should be allowed to host the Olympics. Spreading the Olympics all around the world sounds warm and fussy, but the athletes shouldn't have to worry about their health and safety while competing for their country. I don't think there were any major problems with the games in Beijing or Sochi, but I remember there being questions about corruption by the Chinese and Russian governments as to how public funds were used to pay for the games.
I personally just have no interest in the olympics, but I have no interest in any sports really. I don't follow the olympics or anything, but I have heard some negative surrounding it, but I don't know enough to comment, a lot of people seem to enjoy the olympics which is cool.
I think it takes a looooot of hard work and year round commitment to training to be an olympian. My favorite sports to watch are figure skating and gymnastics. And women's volleyball cuz... we all know why.
honestly don't care too much about it, it's cool to watch some events but I don't like spending the majority of my time watching it. I sorta watch it sometimes. I sorta don't. The beginning and the end is cool. I guess there is just hype around it because it's every four years.
It's just sports and I don't really care about sports so ehh. I mean, it's more interesting and exciting to me than other sport events but it's still not anything I'd sit down and watch.
