What's your opinion on forced auto save?

Regarding terraforming I agree that it can be a hassle.

In my regular gameplay, however, I've kinda come to appreciate the auto-save feature. It's nice to not have to worry about losing data in case of the Switch going dead or maybe because you turned it off without saving for whatever. I was gonna say power surge, but being a portable console the Switch wouldn't have a problem with that.

It would be nice if it could be disabled though, for the reason you mentioned and I'm sure many other reasons as well.

It doesn't bother me. If anything, it's a comfort knowing I won't lose too much if something were to happen, like a dead battery or anything.

I can't say I see a reason not to want it, since there is nothing much you can't undo in some way or another.

I think it's a good addition. I don't really notice it when I'm playing, but not having to deal with a large amount of gameplay being lost seems more beneficial than harmful.

Autosave is ok for me and I don’t mind unless if something bad happens.

I like it. Would be nice if there was an "undo all changes" button in terraforming mode but I suppose if you made a lot of drastic changes and suddenly reverted, it could probably glitch villagers.

Then again villagers should be made to stay inside during terraforming so I don't have to piss them off by shoving them out of the way when they decide to fish at the very pond I have just begun building.

Since there is only one island per Switch, I have to share an island with my toddler. On the 3DS I could just close out the game when she destroyed stuff but now I'm stuck with whatever she's done. I don't mind autosave when I'm playing alone, but I would love the option to disable it.

Half the time I don't even notice it, and am not bothered by it. Other times I think I could really benefit from it not being there.

While it's still kinda possible now, you can use 10 or more bags of fish bait, and quit if you don't find the fish you want.

I think the most useful option is for when you move a building, but something goes wrong and you don't like the location. You've now wasted 50,000-100,000 bells

i kinda forgot about it tbh. although it does ease my paranoia about losing saves. i can definitely understand people disliking it, though. there have been times where i thought, 'oh darn' lol i thought i would be much more averse to it since i did undo saves a lot in new leaf.

Ahh. I never really did the whole 'quit if it goes wrong' kind of thing (plus I don't bother wish fish bait either) so I didn't people. As for buildings...I dunno, if I didn't plan carefully enough I feel like it's my own fault but I can see why other people would want to be able to fix it if they miss clicked.

I actually don't mind it as much as I thought I would. the only thing that frustrates me is if I wanted to terraform a large area, I can't change my mind about it and go back to the way it was before.

for example, I could spend hours building cliffs only to decide I don't like how it looks, and then spend even more time destroying what I just did. this makes me more hesitant about trying out new landscapes, since the more time I spend creating, the more time I would spend erasing. I understand this is to perhaps mimic real life, but this is a video game, and I love the concept of a simple undo button.

but at the same time it is nice to spend hours terraforming and knowing that the game is autosaving for me and I won't lose any progress. idk lol

It doesn’t bother me except for those times when I place down a building and immediately regret it.

I'm honestly paranoid about it because god forbid my switch turns off while its auto saving it has a chance to corrupt the data.

Otherwise I guess it's fine? I save and quit every night anyway so I rarely notice it.

It happens in the background for me. There hasn't been an instance where I wished it didn't exist. On the flip side, there hasn't been an instance where I was glad it was there, either.

Ironically, I once closed my game right after spending 100 NM on the Rescue Service and wanting those NM back.

I don't mind the auto save, I understand not wanting it there during terraforming though. I've felt that way a few times after making something I ended up not liking and then having to take the time to get rid of it!
