Orange is my native fruit! Funnily enough, back when I started my first town in New Leaf (that was short lived), I had oranges as my native fruit. In real life, I barely eat them, but I wouldn’t mind eating clementines and mandarins.
pears are my starter, apples are my mystery island. weird how people hate pears in these games tbh. i love the speckled green of them - the way they look really natural and bright and fit with the trees. also i looooove how they look as perfect fruit, so plump and sublime. so here's hoping we get that at some point too!

i really wanted apples because they were the first fruit I got in NL but ended up w/ oranges :/ they’ve grown on me now and i also have an orange airport so i guess it all worked out lol
Apples! Feels like coming full circle, since that was my native fruit in my original Gamecube town as well. I like them, though I'd prefer peaches as native because peaches are my favorite fruit to eat in real life.
It was originally peaches, but I just got a new switch. (Was done sharing with roomys) Now its oranges. I got an un gifted Dom and a green airport so I’m content with it. Especially because I don’t have to see Dom run around in a camo shirt anymore.
Bella is an orange island, but I wish I could have gotten apples. I decided when I got the game, not to reset the island for fruits or villagers like I used to in city folk. I was lucky to get two cool starters, Katt and Axel. Unfortunately, I was a bit unlucky with the fruit. Oranges are by far my least favorite, but apples or cherries would have been better.
Recently started my island and I got oranges which I'm really happy about! They fit the island resort theme I'm going for since they've got a slightly tropical vibe. Though I don't think native fruit matters too much, I've already got a bunch of cherry and peach trees from mystery islands. I'm definitely looking for some apples next so I can use them to decorate Apple's front yard.
Oranges :3 I'm happy I got them because they fit my island's colors. I actually ended up replacing all of my other fruits with orange trees (not the most convenient for crafting fruit DIYs though)

I didn't care that much which native fruit I get, but I wanted it to match with my airport colour. For me, there were two perfect options: oranges with the orange airport or pears with the green airport. I would also have liked peaches with the yellow airport.
pears would have been my second choice.
