I've had Celia since I've started ACNH. She's definitely my least liked villager, and I've tried to give her gifts and generally be more nicer in hopes of her attitude to change, but it never does. There's times where she says I'm talking to her too much, that I need to give her space, and on occasion when I give her gifts she gives me the most useless things, like a dang cardboard box or some rusty parts.

I've reported her to Isabelle and she's been sort of nicer, but what's your experience with rude villagers in this game? Did you get them to move out? That's what I'm hoping for with Celia, anyway. Lololol

In my experience none of the villagers are rude. Most of the villagers will mention it if you talk to them 3 or more times within a few minutes - the sisterlies mention needing space which I guess some users find mean, the smugs say "we meet again - how many times is that today," the snooties say "it seems like I'm seeing a lot of you lately," etc. And that's perfectly understandable if we keep bothering them while they're just trying to go about their day 😅

I wish my villagers would be a bit more mean to me lol. They're always happy to see me and are super nice which is great but sometimes I want to be emotionally abused lol

Looool. I'm not gonna lie, Celia does make my day a lot more interesting. I never know what to expect from her. Lol.

Right at the start of the game I thought there was going to be a problem with rude villagers, when I couldn't even talk to Katt twice in a row without a rude response (like sorry there's literally nobody else here to talk to and I'm friendly)

But now that I'm farther in to the game I don't find that I encounter any problems like that very much anymore. Unless they are sitting down and I'm trying to get them to move by talking to them a lot, then sometimes they hit you with a sassy response.

I had Gaston as one of my starting villagers in New Leaf and I remember trying to get his picture he would also send garbage to me hahaha

hahahah what a lovely villager hahahah 🤣

Yeah, its been like that always but i wished that villagers would have a more complex emotional system, where they feel grieve, sad sometimes, mad, happy, euphoric etc. To me all personalities kinda look and feel really identical and kinda dull in terms of personality.

What i like best is hearing and when they are having conversations with other villagers when they say things about their lives or past, thats cute, gives them more individuality :)

As much as I love Eugene and Isabelle, Eugene had the audacity to tell me that Isabelle is "the real mastermind" behind my island, when I'm the one who literally set up everything and slaves away designing the place! 😤 After everything I've done for him, too... lol.

But besides that, I haven't really encountered any rude villagers; if anything, they may just say or do certain little things that won't sit right with me (like getting in my path when I'm designing something). So just small pet peeves here and there, but that's about it.

Just FYI, reporting her to Isabelle doesn't do anything! Reporting her only make them go back to their original catchphrase. It doesn't change their personality at all! For example if you get a villager from another town and you don't like their catchphrase, you can report them and it'll change.

That being said, I think it's very interesting that Celia is so mean since she's a normal villager. I have 3 of them currently and they're always really sweet! A little too sweet for my liking though, as I think they're rather boring haha.
As for the gifts, that's just bad RNG. :p

I didn't know that! I thought it was funny that after I reported her, she started being nicer, like when I got stung by a wasp and she voluntarily gave me some medicine. It lowkey made my day. Lololol. But then I gave her an aquarium as a gift and she gave a stupid effing cardboard box. :c

None of them are rude.

I'm a little pissed that they don't wear what I've given them.

That'll piss me off too tbh. Lol

The only rude villager I ever encountered was the starter Uchi. I don't know if the personality just rubs me the wrong way. I find it really rude at times. The classically "rude" villagers (the cranky and snooty villagers) I don't find rude at all.

I feel a terrible need to defend the uchi personality so I will.

The uchi personality is probably one of the most disliked, going by what I've read in online forums. I remember watching Twitch streamers play NH when the game launched. And the hate on uchi villagers shocked me. One hated his uchi so much, he hit her with a net repeatedly every time he saw her. He visited a friend who also had a uchi villager and they both hit her repeatedly whenever they saw her. My poor heart. That was so rough to see.

I happen to love the uchi personality. I think it's highly misunderstood. The uchi personality is always honest, will never mince her words, and this is what rubs players the wrong way. Their attitude and sass --not rudeness-- is what makes them uchi. But you know what is beneath all that attitude and sass? A pure heart of gold! The uchi villager is probably the only one who will stand up for the player. This is proof. <- click on link :D

So far, I don't believe the game has rude villagers. I think the snooty comes close, but it's more sarcasm than rudeness. And cranky villagers are just boomers. (And I don't mean to disparage. I love my cranky islanders. By popular definition, I am, myself, a boomer through and through. )

Actually in ACNH they are too much nicer than previous versions LOL back to previous versions you will see Cranky / Snooty villagers are too meanies LOL even Jock at sometimes LOL

And tbh i missed their meanies LOL make them more lively compare to now xD

Trust me, it's just the uchis, they're generally horrible. I've had almost all of them at one time or another, trying desperately to find one I could tolerate, but zero since NL. The only two I've never had thus far are Canberra and Diva, but I assume they'll be just the same.

I thought I was liking Renee, then she ran up to me and said something along the lines of needing the cream and sugar set I was carrying to send to a friend back home, so I gave it to her. Next time I was at Renee's house, I saw the cream and sugar set on her table, and when I touched it, she said something along the lines of it's what she puts out for guests...

That dirty liar was booted from my island then and there. Can't stand uchis...

"How many times are we going to see each other today?"

I am not sure if that's the exact quote. However, all my snooty villagers are mean to me especially if I keep talking to them more than once.

And this is also the reason why I don't want smug villagers in my island. All their conversations turn me down.

I make some sassy jokes like "Keep it up, I have amiibos."

Mostly I don't have a problem with uchis or other villagers unless someone trashes the sweet/normal villagers. Blanche once belittled Fauna, and I'm so protective of the normies that I hold it against any villager that thinks ill of them. Needless to say, Blanche's stay was a short one. :P Don't mess with my normies! XD XD

The rudest thing that my villagers did was sit down on a chair/sofa or even on the floor (sherb) and start reading when I came to visit them with a present. Dialogue wise, Punchy should know by now my aversion to bugs from our time together in NL, so I find it rude he talks about his bug friends to me (I know he doesn’t remember since this is an entirely new game and file). Aside from that, I never found any thing they said to be rude (when I still paid attention to their dialogue). I think Fuschia did rub me off the wrong way a bit, but I didn’t take it personal (partially because I know it is just a game and they aren’t real).
