This type of thread has probably been posted a million times before, but whatevs.

As I was doing a trade over wi-fi today it suddenly dawned on me that lots of people probably wonder why the hell I named my town "Blanket".
Unfortunately I didn't name it in honor of Michael Jackson's kid.

The name "Blanket" refers to "a blanket of snow" because the town is supposed to be winter themed. My previous town was named Impala after the band Tame Impala.

What's your story?

When I got Animal Crossing: Wild World I was really, really little. It was about 2006, so I figure I was 11? Anyway, when Kapp'n asks you where you're headed, being the bratty 11 year old I was, I said "Nowhere".

Fast forward 7 years, I buy the game myself with my own money, and I decide for sentiment's sake to name my town "Nowhere".

Cloud Kingdom has sentimental meaning to me, it's a metaphorical place I used to write about that was a safe haven for me while I was going through a rough time and trying to move on. My town's real name is just Cloud but it's short for Cloud Kingdom, since Animal Crossing has always been my little safe haven.

I named mine after my favorite book and piano song called, Chopsticks. I had to shorten it to Chopstix though 'cause it wouldn't fit.

This is really amusing to me, because the first time I played the original Animal Crossing for GameCube when I was like 8 Rover asked "which way are you headed?" or something like that, and I thought he was asking what direction we were going so I put "West". Such a dork, I was.

Wow my first town is called Deathrow, and right now I am thinking of resetting it.
Welp, I guess my town name has predicted itself :/

I forgot what I named my first two towns in ACWW but my last town I named Kashyyyk (Star Wars)

My ACNL is named Rohan (Lord of the Rings)

Aw, everyone's responses are so sweet. I just named my town after Zanarkand from FFX but there is that 8 letter max so it is just Zanarkan lol

I named my town Mirage because I was just going to use it to get animals to transfer over to Pangola, and so it wasn't a "real" town. It has since become my main town and I rarely even play the others any more.

These are all really interesting stories!

I should note that I modeled my town to have a winter theme because I currently live in southern Arizona where snow is practically non-existent. D:

I named my town Paradise with the intention to make it an all wolf town~
it's basically a Wolf Paradise :P

I named my town Cinnabar because I've been a huge Pokemon fan since the 90s, and I wanted a piece of the Pokemon world with me in ACNL - combined my two fave games in a way. I went through a long list of all the game town names, and Cinnabar just stuck straight away ^_^

My new One Year Challenge town is called Taciturn. I wanted a unique name that had something that sort of reflected my 'offline' personality.

Maple, because when I was putting the cartridge in for the first time I had to eat breakfast, and Maple syrup spilt all over the table, that got me thinking lol

Called it Harmony for the same reason we named our WoW guild Harmony, me and my boyfriend are complete opposites but as a result we compliment each other extremely well. Harmonious!

I like scary names and Macabre means something having to fo with death or like injury. Not sure Google it up.
My town is scary cute and my next town is like cute or fancy or both!
