What's the nicest thing someone's ever done for you?

Omg! Reading these out such a smile in my face 🥺!!! It’s so wonderful seeing everyone’s personal TBT kindness moments. I have not been on here long enough to have too many myself, but I think one of the nicest things someone has done for me IRL was when I had just gotten out of my chem lab at 10:30 Junior year of college. Not much was open aside from the on campus Starbucks. I was one of two people there aside from the Baristas.

The barista who took my order, a hot chai with pumpkin spice and a chocolate cake pop. He asked me what I was up to and I said I had just gotten out of my 3 hour chem lab. He asked me why I looked exhausted and I said because my %yield for my lab assignment hadn’t been as high as I hoped which was frustrating as it brought my grade down. He said “oh that sucks!” And then grabbed me my pastry, and my drink. He handed it to me and there were 3!!! Cake pops in the bag.

I guess when you open a package there’s more than one and since the store was gonna close in like 10 minutes and nobody else was there the only option was to throw them out?

I thanked him profusely but he was just like “hey, you need them, today sucked.”

He literally had no reason not to keep them for himself or his coworkers. It totally made my night, and I think about it often.

Well a few months ago @ZeldaCrossing64 randomly sent me their drawing of one of my characters. I remember I was just in my room doing homework when I got the notification and I was surprised when I saw that someone actually drew for me. At the time, such a thing didn't usually happen on my end.

I say it's the nicest thing someone has ever done for me because later I opened up to them, and one thing led to another and now we're partners. 🥰

I'm sure there are a few things that happened to me IRL but I can't remember at the moment. Maybe I'll share them later!!

This happened a couple days ago I was at whataburger and the woman at the counter said she’d find a way to make my meal less expensive I didn’t even ask her to do so because I was fully prepared to spend the full amount for a meal. she ended up giving me the chocolate shake for free. I was super happy it really made my day. ^^

I guess the nicest thing someone has ever done for me is my mom caring for me my entire life. Also my family being there for me at all times.
Me too I don’t know what I’d do without my mom. ^^

Growing up, my dad constantly threatened us and was abusive in general. Mom too but one morning before school, dad told me he was going to kill me. He had said that thousands of times, but something about the way he said it that morning made me believe it. Usually I was numb to what he said since I was just grateful not to be getting hit.

So the last bell of the day rang and school let out. I was still shaken which was really unusual but I just couldn't bring myself to get on the bus home. This was a bad idea since I would've gotten beat if I missed the bus. Regardless I missed the bus and hung out in the choir room for like three hours after school with other kids while I tried to build up the nerve to call my dad to tell him I missed the bus.

As all the other kids were being picked up, I was the last one there. I was really nervous and still hadn't called my dad. The choir teacher asked if I was being picked up soon. I told him yes. When he asked when, I said I didn't know. He was like "Well can you call your dad and ask? Is he on his way yet?"

I realized I was cornered and wouldn't be able to hide forever. Another one of my dad's threats was beating us if we ever told anyone what happened at home. Or killing us, depending on his mood when he made the threat I guess. But I guess at that point I felt defeated and figured I was going to die anyway and had nothing to lose.

I told my teacher I couldn't go home and what my dad said. He was like "Are you sure?" I was known as a class clown so the fact that I was freaked and was adamant I was in danger pretty much answered the question for him. He said "Call your dad."

I headed outside because I had a crappy cell phone and got no signal indoors. As I was about to open the door, I saw my dad's truck in the parking lot and him sitting there looking angry. I panicked and ran back to the choir room. "He's here! I can't go! He's going to kill me."

The teacher told me to grab my stuff and come on. I was terrified but I did was he said. I slowly put my backpack on and headed back to the door. He got up from his desk and said "Let's go." I walked out to the parking lot with the teacher walking alongside me. I got to the truck and threw my backpack in the back seat.

As I did that, my teacher stood in front of the passenger door, staring my dad down. It was dead silent. I closed the back door and grabbed the handle for the passenger door and my teacher moved out of the way, still staring at my dad. I sat down and my dad started the truck. I looked at my teacher, still nervous but he broke eye contact with my dad and gave me a reassuring look.

My teacher finally turned and headed back to the building. As we backed away, my dad asked "What was he doing?" I said "He just wanted to make sure I was ok." I got home and surprisingly my dad didn't even ask why I missed the bus. Thankfully I didn't get yelled at, beat, and he didn't follow through with his threat. I got that threat many times again after that, but it never freaked me out like that one time.

I'm forever grateful to my teacher because I'm convinced he saved my life.
