whats the longest time youve gone plot resetting?

Oh, I see. I never knew TTing backwards without that plot house appearing. I'll try that next time, but just to be sure I actually know it will work is if I use another town and i'll test it out on that.

It works like. Let's pretend you got a villager from your friend today. You TT a day ahead and start a new file. You'll see that the villager moving in has his or her plot in some random location. If you TT back to today, the villager's house plot will not appear. But if you're like me, you'll still start a new file and make sure. There shouldn't be any villager plots around because it's the day you got the villager. But it's better safe than sorry.

Ok, thanks for the info.

I once kept resetting specifically to obtain Whitney and that took me ~3 hours, but I don't usually reset plots. I did reset Mitzi's plot a few days ago, but that's because I wanted her to move to the other half of my town which is empty.

I plot reset at most three or four times for one villager; I'm not picky about placement, and just want them away from bridges and off of path intersections.

Organic towns are equally as cute as structured ones, and I'm somewhere in the middle.

6 hours for Francine ... I'm also obsessive with villager placement because I hate to see dirt paths, I always try to fill up spots left by my former villagers. Plot resetting is not always about getting villager houses lined in a row, each player has its own reasons to do so or to not.

30 minutes is when I start going crazy. I might last an hour before quitting for the day. I haven't ever spent that long resetting though because I only have a few areas where I don't want villagers to move, and the rest of the town is mostly free game... except when villagers keep trying to move RIGHT up against another building... which they do... all the time

Plot resetting is stupid. I don't understand why? I really hate those towns with houses in a row. It's just a house. I really don't care
* sorry for the non-stop plot resetters* but, I town reset all the time so I kinda understand you.

this. :D

6.5 hours for Ankha. I ended up settling for an "ok" spot. Huge waste of time - she doesn't even live in my town anymore.

I'm kind of a newb at plot resetting, but I have a question for someone who can possibly help?

I got Teddy from someone yesterday, and when I booted my game up today, I decided I wanted to get Teddy in the perfect spot next to my home. But he keeps picking the same spot, 70% of the time. All the other times he got close a couple, and completely off others.

My question is, how do you time travel without picking your mayor? Can I extend the hours so I can keep trying if he still doesn't pick the right spot before I actually need to sleep? XD; This is the worst of the times I've plot resetted, so I don't want to settle, since he's the reason I reset my game a few days ago. I want him in the perfect spot.

You can change the time and date in Settings on the 3DS menu before you boot up the game. So if you don't manage to place him today you can set the date back a day tomorrow and continue going.

A small tip for next time, if you put loads of pwp spaced out around your town it limits the number of places new villagers move in.

Edit: Although now I think about it, you don't need to TT at all, if you don't ever load the game properly today, then he'll continue trying to move in tomorrow. ~ But you'll have missed a day of playing AC, which if you're like me you'd rather avoid and get your daily chores done by TTing once he's been placed.

Yeah unfortunately I just restarted my game, so I don't have a ton of PWPs atm. I have some, but I should have planned better for sure.

So right now it's July 1st in my game, before it hits July 2nd, should I just go back to June 30th?

Oh! So if I just never enter the town as mayor, and keep doing the plot resetting, I am ok? o:

Yeah, as whenever you next play, regardless of the day - so long as it is not the day you invitied Teddy to move in - he should try to move in.

I'd recommend going as late as you can today, and then tomorrow morning setting the date back a day. I wouldn't go back to yesterday just because that should be the day you invited him to move in, and if you load the game / save a new char before the time you last played the game will register it as backward time travelling and give you whatever penalties come with that.

I refuse to go over a day of plot resetting. So if they don't go to the place I want I will just let them plot somewhere that isn't completely dumb.

I just realized something else. If it's a brand new town, the resetting might be next to impossible for a specific spot, because there are just too many options.

My town is packed with pwp's and 10 villagers, so the amount of possible spots where the plot could end up was somewhat limited. I still ended up resetting for MANY MANY MANY hours over the course of 3 days the last time I did it...but if I had a more open map, it would have taken a thousand times longer, and I would probably have had to compromise at some point.

Anyway, just something to keep in mind. How many possible areas are there for the villager to end up in your town?

I'm currently plot resetting for yet another 9th villager and I've probably been at it for 2 days so far. Obviously I haven't been doing it constantly for a whole 48 hours because I've taken a lot of breaks inbetween, but it's still been 2 days and I'm not getting anywhere.

Not only is it a case of getting a plot where I want, it's also seeing who the villager is. I'm not currently in any sort of "personality lock" where I'm only getting villagers of the same personality over and over at the moment, so I'm literally getting anyone. Countless times I've seen a plot in a great spot but it's been a villager I don't like or want. Rodeo showed up in some good spots twice and seemed to be so desperate to live in my town that he even decided to try his luck at staying in the campsite too. No means no, Rodeo!

My longest is probably three days, with breaks in between so I don't bore myself out of my mind. When I get frustrated, I just load into my mayor without caring about where the plot is. (I've reset long enough to know where most houses will likely plot anyways)

yeah, thanks ill keep that in mind! for a town with only 10 pwps its odd that ive never really had that much trouble with plot resetting and have always been somewhat lucky--until now ;w; my town is pretty open and i probably should lay down a couple cheap pwps to limit where they can go for the future; i wish id known about that sooner! thanks for sharing!!

also good luck to all you fellow plot resetters! remember to take breaks n all that jazz ;u;

I think like 7 days. Or maybe it was 9 days?

For Wendy. .-. She really just DID NOT want to plot anywhere near where I wanted her to. I had over 20 Flower Beds all over my town at the time too.
