What's the last movie you've seen?

In honor of tomorrow's Pokémon Day, I watched Mewtwo Strikes Back, both the Japanese and English versions.

The Japanese version was beautiful, made me emotional at some parts and got me thinking a lot. This is the Pokémon movie I will always stand by, and I recommend it to other fellow Pokémon fans.

The English version, on the other hand, just wasn't the same. They butchered it with jarring errors and wiped out the existentialism themes of the Japanese version with an inconsistent plot + ironic moral that felt like it was tacked on at the last minute. There was zero emotional impact there. I guess the only good things I could say about that version are Mewtwo's iconic "circumstances of one's birth" quote and some of the songs the played during the credits, but that's not saying much.

I'm still reeling from the fact my mam read a complimentary article about and subsequently downloaded and watched K-Pop Demon Hunters with me and my sister lmaoo. It felt so surreal, it was not on my 2026 bingo card. The movie was actually good though, I enjoyed it (except the singing. I'm sorry, kpop really isn't my thing). It felt like pokemon and disney had a baby and it was nursed by kpop culture 💀 also it can't be just me who thought Mira's design, character, and voice was very similar to Ruffnut from how to train your dragon 😭💀

My mum wanted to watch this yesterday on Mother's Day

Project Hail Mary!! Such a good movie! I saw it in theaters and didn’t expect to love it so much. My boyfriend read the book and wanted to go. I was whatever about it but I’m glad I went to see it with him. I’m gonna listen to the audiobook and lowkey wanna see it again in IMAX. 👾🪐

I just finished watching Captain America: Civil War... for like the hundredth time XD
Hey it's a good film! I liked Winter Soldier to. I know a lot don't care for Captain America films, but I always liked Steve and Bucky.

In theatres: Zootopia 2 (quite fun)
At home (actually on a plane...): Harvey Girls (such a great film!)
Nice! What did you think of Zooptopia? I haven't watched it yet.

I thought it was really fun! It's pure entertainment; a perfect movie theatre film -- but I'm looking forward to watching it again at home. It captures the humor and world from the first movie and builds up on it in I think in just the right ways! And the snake is adorable 🐍

The last movie I saw in theaters was Hoppers! It was a fun little movie. Thing is, I work in a movie theater and I get spoiled movies I want to see all the time. I want to see Mario but I don't know how well I'll be able to avoid spoilers for that.

I just finished Frankenstein (2025) and I loved it! I am a huge fan of the book, for a couple of reasons, and I think the movie captured the main points very well. Mainly that the "monster" was more than a monster, and wanted to live a human life. I didnt care for many of the details being changed from the book, but it got the true heart of the book right in my opinion.

Just saw Together last night! Gonna stick the rest as a spoiler in for anyone who doesn't want too much info :D

As far as horror movies go I feel like it's hard to come up with a concept that hasn't been done before so this was refreshing to see it wasn't some sort of ghost/witch/aliens trope. I will say though that they really didn't have to spell out the ending so obviously for the viewers but unfortunately that's the trajectory movies are taking due to people being on their phones and missing half the visual clues
