I've kind of wondered the same. I recall people making custom designs on Tumblr years ago, but I don't know if those sites are still used with Animal Crossing related stuff.

Twitter is a great place. This is the English hashtag for designs #ACNHdesign and this is the Japanese hashtag #マイデザイン

It can be hard to find exactly what you want, but I've found that some of the prettiest stuff is there imo.

twitter is definitely where i go to find custom design related things. like previously mentioned, i think some of the prettiest custom designs can be found on there if you use the hashtag that Leaf_02 posted

i second this! i found most of the custom designs on my island from searching those exact hashtags on twitter

you can use those tags for instagram as well, which is also great for custom designs and inspiration in general! i recommend @nookscatalog for inspo, @nookstreetmarket for clothes, and @acnh.paths for custom tiles!
