I usually listen to their requests and even give non native fruit whenever they ask for fruit.
I also give gifts on letters and pick signatures as well.

I'm using the megaphone to see how is our friendship level.

I always try to give perfect fruit when they ask for one. Also, what does the megaphone do for friendship level? :o

It still isn't as easy as it seems though...

I neglect them for long periods of time and then get all their pictures when April 1st rolls around.

hahah! yeah that's me too basically.
I've had my town for 8 months basically and I only have Stinky's photo.

I usually just give them perfect fruit when they ask. I don't like doing deliveries or catching fish because it messed up their home, but occasionally I'll give them a piece of furniture I think will suit them. I don't write em letters or anything like that though, unless I'm desperate for the initiative/meow coupons :'D

I just chat with them. I'm too lazy to do favours for them anymore. Like, do it yourself, I'm the mayor and I have stuff to do.

"In New Leaf, there are various indicators as to the level of friendship between the player and a villager. For example, villagers with a medium to high level of friendship will send presents to the player spontaneously, or even give them in person. Villagers with a very high level of friendship will visit the player's house unannounced, bring presents to the players house, and may even ask the player to bring them rare fish or bugs. Furthermore, villager who feel friendly with the player will wave or bow when called using the megaphone."

I know that sometimes villagers mess up with their homes, but it's rather troublesome taking it way so seriously.

I often give furniture which are laking like dressers, beds, stereo and buying items which are cluttering their homes while I'm visiting.

if they ask for furniture i won't do the favour. but if they ask for fruits i'll give them perfect ones, if they ask for river/ocean fish i'll give them rare ones. (although they sometimes end up placing it in their houses but whatever) & occasionally i'll send letters

I talk to them daily and do requests. I used to give them letters but I don't anymore.

I don't really talk to my villagers at the moment because I'm landscaping....

I adore vague requests or fruit requests since it's easy to give them something high-quality~ I have tons of sharks and rare beetles from the island as well as stacks of perfect fruit to hand out~ I also send letters to them telling them about my day etc. and attach perfect fruit to the letter.

I usually just talk to them a few times every day (if they are in the town that is: if they are in the museum then I most likely won't talk to them). I usually do fruit requests. When they ask me to find furniture I actually don't most of the time because it's so hard to choose what furniture that would look good in their home and what furniture I have/is on sale (using catalog takes too long IMO). If they ask me to visit their house or if they want me to let them visit my house I usually agree unless they say that it's after a certain time (e.g if it's 3:00PM and they tell me that I need to visit at 4:00PM, then I will deny). I already got Jeremiah's and Mott's pictures from doing this though I really want Tangy's picture since she is my favourite villager that I have in my New Leaf town. Usually when I get a picture of a villager, I try to move that villager out as I think they are no longer needed unless it's a dream villager or a villager that I really like/care for (such as Purrl, she is not one of my dream villagers but she is one of the only few Snooty villagers that I like. I've noticed that most of my favourite characters are cats, excluding Tom Nook (yes, I actually like him) and Alfonso, lol). I'm so glad they added amiibo cards so that you can now move in your dream villagers if you have their card (which is a problem for me as I don't have an NFC reader/writer and I don't want to pay just to move in a virtual character into a virtual town).

I forgot to mention this earlier, but when I have a villager that I do not like in my town I can't bring myself to actually trying to annoy them so they would move out (for example, I have Beardo in my town and I don't like him that much due to his ugliness but I can't be bothered to move him out especially since Toy Day is around the corner and I have his gift written down). Not to mention that annoying villagers actually makes it harder for them to move out.
