I kind of wanna get my last two non-dreamies, Felicity and Colton, out, but I'm not sure the most effective way to get them out. I've personally tried the two days forward, two days back technique in my old town, but it resulted in me losing two of my dreamies. I really don't wanna lose any of my dreamies while trying to get them out. Is one day forward, one day back an effective method?

I usually TT one day forward, talk to one individual villager about 50 times, see if anybody is rumored to leave, then if they happen to be out I walk in front of them. If no one is moving, I TT one day forward again.

I just TT one day at a time, and usually go through 2-5 days in the game for every actual day. Usually, I will talk to the villagers outside 5 times each, and stand in front of them to see if they ping me. It's taken me about a month to get 7 of my villagers out, and now I only have one more to get out. In the process, I haven't lost any of the villagers that I want to keep, so I'm happy with it. If you don't mind putting in the time, I would definately suggest TTing this way.

This method will allow you to keep dreamies while cycling out villagers. It's a bit more time consuming, but a lot safer.

Ah, my mistake - thanks for the clarification ^^;;
Newbie at cycling and since I have 2 3DS XL and two cartridges, I just keep working on the cycle town until I can move the desired villager <-- wouldn't dare messing with my main town.

While we are on the subject, would this guide be somewhat less time consuming...?

It takes 5 in-game days for a villager to decide they're moving out to the day they are moving out. This means that each time you have a villager ping, you can safely TT forward FIVE full days.

Here's a short timeline:
9th - Villager A tells you they are moving out, you tell them to stay

This means that the next possible date a villager to get into boxes is on the 15th (if a villager makes the decision to move on the 10th, you'll have 5 days before they box up)

You TT to the 14th (5 days ahead of the 9th) and talk to AT LEAST two villagers to see if they have any rumors about move-outs. You always talk to at least two. If you only talk to one, that villager might be the one moving out, so they will never tell you in a normal conversation.

Keep in mind, TTing 5 days forward is only safe if you have had a villager ping on THAT day. The next day may be the beginning of a new villager move-out cycle. It might not be. That's why 5 days at a time is the fastest, but still safe.
