Not sure if there's a thread like this already but, what things would you like to see in future games?

I'd still like to keep it relatively simple, but I would definitely love to be able to buy Christmas lights for my house, maybe sell them where the cookies are, and the villagers could decorate theirs like in the Bright Nights

I'd also like it if when you remodel your house, scaffolding goes up and you have the option to stay over night at the Town Hall or if you have a very high (like picture high) level of friendship you could stay over at a villagers house. Then instead of coming out of your house, you'd come out of their house/Town Hall

What are you guys' thoughts on anything new?

-The ability to choose where villagers live
-A grid while placing PWP's so you don't have to guess where to stand
-Ferret, bat, platypus, badger, possum, and hyena villagers
-Villagers can expand their homes too
-Stats you can look at to see the level of friendship with the villager
-The ability to arrange your own gathering and hangouts rather than just the villagers
-The ability to design your own exterior
-The ability to change your face like you can hair
-Ethnicity options
-Artsy and Shy personality types
-Keywords in letters that causes the villager to respond accordingly (like Cleverbot)
-Ability to make your own tune to play in your home
-"Create a villager" feature where you can choose the species, name it, design it, etc.

All I can think of atm.

-snip-

All I can think of atm.

That basically covers all my ideas as well. c:
Although tbh I feel like the shy personality type would overshadow all the others. It would be cute, though, so I'd love it if it were added. :3

I'd also like new villagers to knock on your door one day and suggest moving in and if you approve then they suggest that you help them try to find the perfect spot, to which you can decline if you still like the element of randomness in where they move

Picking where your villagers live
Better storage options
No more getting stung by bees (haha)
Less 'empty space' requirements for PWPs
No grass deterioration
Room for more than 30 pwps

What I'd like to see in the next game:

- Taller trees. I think Animal Crossing would look better with taller trees (even taller than the 'main' tree in New Leaf), this would work well on the Wii U. Maybe you could climb them, save stuck cat villagers, build a treehouse, have a tire swing, birds might build nests on them, villagers hide in them when you play hide and seek, etc. The more I imagine taller trees, the more I am committed to the idea...let me know what you think :)

- A formal path system. I really don't like the look of pattern placing, a formal path system would look more natural and integrated.

- A larger town map.

- **Villagers are more unique from each other even if they are of the same type. I know this would be a lot of work :( but for a game like Animal Crossing, actual personalities are a must. It shouldn't be a chore to talk to villagers.

- No more Jock villagers.

- Meaner Cranky and Snooty villagers

- More romance and drama, I want to have villager enemies

- Yes, villagers should expand their homes as well

- Blathers talks less, or once you have identified a fossil you know what it is and don't have to ask Blathers to assess it again

- More furniture sets

- Larger, more customizable houses: rotate furniture, curtains, different room shapes

- A tool kit that is separate from your inventory

- Special areas designated for gardening

- Farming

- Option to permanently remove rocks

- Make it easier to unlock PWPs

- Larger beach area, New Leaf's is too squished in my opinion

- Carnations shouldn't be so hard to obtain :(

- Ability to build sandcastles

- Lots of secrets

I can't think of anymore right now, but I do want the next Animal Crossing to be a considerably different experience than New Leaf, it has so much potential

sorry if these have been stated. i just skimmed the prior entries
-pick where the villagers live
-more control over random move ins
-pick when villagers move out
-easier PWP placing
-remove rocks/other obstructions for a fee of course when placing PWP's
-new species of villagers
-new personality types
-**larger town capacity (10 -> 15-16 animals, then i wouldn't need multiple copies)**
-bigger inventory
-less repeated dialogue
-bigger houses
-bigger villager houses (they upgrade as they live longer in your town)
-no more animal tracks
-return of flea markets (i liked this alot back in ACWW, Re-tails flee market spots aren't my favorites)
-more storage spaces
-differences between villagers (ex. normals won't all say the same stuff. some common dialogue but then it branches out)
-make map resetting easier (maybe a filter or something to narrow it down)
-option to change grass/town fruit as a PWP
-ability to see friendship level
-no random move outs (one day notice so you have a chance to stop them before they are in boxes)
-more common campsite villagers
that's all i can think of right now :)

I'd just like to see more complex relationships with villagers. Maybe something similar to Harvest Moon (only non-romantic!!!). Unlocking stories, additional dialogue. I'd also LOVE it if they could develop relationships with each other (these can be romantic ^^)!!!

And THIS--definitely this!

Hmmmm. I'm kind of split on the villager houses. I like how they're not fixed, but when you say random, WOW is it random, they can squish flowers, destroy AR paths, etc. I mean I do like how it's not fixed, but in a way wish they'd have put in some code for them to allow you to dictate exactly where you cordon off spaces for villagers. Like since you're the mayor and can put PWP's where you want (virtually, there are some criteria you need to follow), you should be able to do the same with saying this area can be a villager house, this is for a windmill, this can be another house, this a flower bed, etc. I'd like to see the mayor be able to really do town development and have a say where the villager houses can go.

Oh god I hope you don't mean a hunger system. I hate hunger systems. A small bonus is a cool idea though, like a slight run speed increase from candy or something like that.

-being able to place house signs or something for villager house placement
-more dialogue
-no grass deterioration
-more than 10 spaces for designs
-better path system
-bigger map & being able to have more villagers, maybe 12 or so
-longer store hours. even though I TT throughout the day since I can usually only play at night when I'm in school, it's still a pain that stores start closing at 8:00. I think they should at least be open until 10:00, but that's just me.
-my biggest thing is whenever I see screenshots from earlier games, the villagers are so much more emotional. In ACNL you'll occasionally get the "I'm really disappointed you said no" but they told you off in past games. I wish I was able to experience that. Bringing back the emotions could even help with the repetitive dialogue.
-easier to unlock PWP's. Still only be able to unlock 1 a day, but also if I'm playing for a couple hours I should get one.
-up the PWP limit
-tool kit separate from inventory is a yes, though that's what I use my mail slots for

- Separate slots for tools. (PLEASE.)
- A few new villager species.
- Different skin color choices for the MC.
- Much slower deterioration of grass, and maybe some grass seeds or something like that that could be watered to expedite the process instead of just waiting for weeks on end.
- New personalities are always nice. Having ten would mean that I could have a town with no duplicate personalities, and that'd be cool.
- Some in-game paths for purchase (I find that almost all the paths made with patterns look strange to me.)
- New villager in the campsite once a week or so. And why on earth can't it be demolished? I'm about to have a town full of dreamies and I'd like to get rid of it. It's hideous.

the most important one is being able to "hug" or at least touch the characters like in hand shake or do bro fists and stuff like that! would be awesome and cute :'c

I'd like more options for talking to villagers, like instead of just "Let's chat" to get random dialog or "Never mind I don't want to talk to you" to end maybe be able to invite them to your house or give them random gifts like they do for you. If I want to give a villager something I either put it in retail and hope they walk in so I can push them to it, have it in my inventory and talk to them over and over in the hopes they ask to buy it, or write a letter and mail it to them. A way to just give them clothes or furniture without having to jump though hoops would be amazing, it would have put an end to the Periwinkle Tee crisis of Crystal before it began.

I agree. I want to hug the crap out of Fauna and make secret handshakes with her. o;
