Turned over a New Leaf
I personally want to see heavily updated graphics that take advantage of the Wii U's power. Keep it in cartoony style but with amazing visuals. Grass that looks realistic and even moves in the wind. Water with good reflection. Good lighting, especially at night time. It's possible to have this realism while keeping the game cartoony. Just look at Mario Kart 8 or Sonic Unleashed.
Besides that, I'd also like a high-quality soundtrack. Perhaps something orchestrated like what was in the movie (you can check out my YT channel to listen to the movie's soundtrack: boblen221
Also, I want the game to take full advantage of Miiverse. Perhaps MMO-like qualities for online modes. The 3DS sequel of Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times lets you make your own shop and sell to people in-town and over wi-fi. Perhaps Miiverse features could allow us to set up a shop in a huge market area? How about the dream suite all over again with Miiverse integration to allow for feedback in your town, even specific areas? Or maybe Nintendo can take from Maxis and do what was in the PC version of Mysims: an online-only town that you can hang out in with friends and build in.
Actually, speaking of Mysims, how about deciding where neighbors move? How about more specific features when it comes to designing your house? Best of all, how about a huge amount of areas to explore? Give us the main town, but give us caves in certain areas, a separate forest to explore, maybe a desert. That'd be amazing and make the AC world seem so much bigger and more immersive.
For gamepad integration, treating the gamepad's screen like the 3DS's lower screen would be sufficient, but we've had the rolling-log effect for our world for so long, so how about when we point the gamepad at the TV screen we get a view of the sky to allow for slingshot-aiming or just sky-viewing? When it's not pointing at the screen, we get a normal view of the town comparable to the Gamecube version. That'd be pretty neat.
The shopping area of the town could just be a separate area like what I suggested above. Make it bigger and more urban, like the city in City Folk, only attached to the town like in New Leaf so it's quick to get to.
Being able to rotate the camera when outside would be nice. Again, similar to the Wii version of Mysims, instead of being locked into a traditional AC camera rotating system, it'd be nice to be able to rotate the camera freely and zoom in and out. It'd make looking at things better and make the town feel more homely as all of the buildings wouldn't have to face south anymore.
Voice chat returning would be nice. All you have to do to voice chat on the Wii U is plug a headset or headphones with a mic into the headphone slot.
How about using the cameras on the Wii U gamepad to be able to take pictures of surfaces to turn the pictures into clothing, flags, etc. Sure, this could be exploited, but so can the regular pattern-making system we have now.
Being able to put virtual console games that we own on the Wii U into our house as furniture items would be awesome. They could be accessed like the NES games in the Gamecube version.
How about outdoor furniture? It'd be nice to have a yard to customize, especially if we had a rotating camera system like I suggested above. It'd be nice to put the backyard furniture (or any furniture to be honest) outside in a dedicated yard area. Items such as breaker boxes and outdoor air conditioner compressors would make great yard customizing items too.
Perhaps a more complicated diving system compared to New Leaf? Maybe getting an underwater view when diving so we could chase things and see them?
Finally, a feature I wish was in New Leaf, how about markers on our maps which would remain on the gamepad screen to see where people visiting your town are? This way you could keep an eye on them and find them easily. A hide-and-seek mode could be turned on to remove the markers when that is needed.
What would you guys like to see in a Wii U Animal Crossing game? It has to be an even bigger evolution in the series than New Leaf was. It would help Wii U sales and the game would sell huge amounts.
