• The results of the egg decorating contest have been announced! Everyone's designs were amazing! Congratulations to our winners!

What would you change in new leaf?

I wish that there was a way to keep track of your statistics, like how many fish you've caught (not types of fish) and how many times you've helped villagers

Here is what I'd like (compiled from other posts I made):
  • more storage room and each dresser/wardrobe=separate storage
  • more design save slots
  • more customizable furniture & more color choices
  • make wallpaper and flooring customizable
  • make, drink, store [in a refrigerator or something] coffee, tea, juice, etc. at home; and same thing with food; I didn't like how you can't do anything with the coffee beans other than use it as decoration
  • job making food and serving beverages at Brewster's (since he doesn't know how to cook); different results with different ingredients used and how they are prepared; different recipes and make your own recipe option
  • have dialogue less repetitive
  • turn your designs into clothing (and not need to have the pattern saved)

Been a long while since the last time I listed what I would change in New Leaf, but I'll redo it.

Swimming for the diving creatures is absolutely worthless other than filling for museum, considering on how much effort is needed to get these suckers in first place. Octopus and certain crabs are insanely frustrating to get, because they move so fast they need a huge room in order for them to be caught or else they'll disappear. Didn't I mentioned that a diving creature who stayed in water for more than 15 seconds will automatically disappear? Fun times. Either raise the selling prices by a lot or nerf the diving creature moves.

Another thing that bugged me a lot is the needlessly clunky, slow and arbitrarily restrictive method of managing PWP. First off, the game doesn't have an interface that allows you to put a PWP without the need of Isabelle constantly following you until you settled on where to place it. Instead of going through trials and errors, why not use a better interface? Second, why does it always take day after you fully paid it to get the PWP to appear? Some of them looks like they could be just brought over and call it a day. Lastly, why are certain PWPs that seems to fit just fine in tight spaces absolutely need to have at least one space around them?

A overly persistent issue of mine since the inception of the very first Animal Crossing game is how limited is the inventory. 15-16 is definitely not enough for an average player, even with the 10 extra slots via the opened letters. Inventory often tends to get full, therefore you got to store the least needed items somewhere. Definitely not on the ground, because that'll might ruin your Perfect Town Rating and they could be easily stolen if an overly jealous player comes in a town. Your only option is to waste time on storing them in letters or in some storage. Why can't we get many more slots than 15-16? This is a freaking video game, it's supposed to be an escape from the reality, not reminding me on why reality is harsh!

Not having to keep pulling up the keyboard in best friend chat, like in the town chat where it doesnt close unless you close it.

Plot resetting. I wanna be able to pick their plots for them

this

Ah theres so many things id love to see in another installation of Animal Crossing. Granted, they added so many things and made new leaf super awesome. I agree very much with plot resetting. Its a pain to get them to move where you want them, but i like that much better than the other ones where there were set plots. i kind of like that idea, but i wouldnt want to choose it right at the beginning because id rather plan my town around first.

yes yes yes to more storage space and butterflies flying around your house. more personality types, more pattern storage.

i think we should be able to give Blathers the fossils for some type of furniture. he always said if he could afford to keep it he would. maybe we can help him and donate to him.

i miss the constellations! those were the best:)

-More storage for patterns. I shouldn't have to have 3 extra characters taking to space on my land just so I could have sweet paths.

-Better selection of hairstyles. Everything looks so generic and similar, and the fact that you have to answer questions to get the hairstyle you want is ridiculous.

-The nose of the player. I don't understand, and TBH I never paid attention to it until I was on Tumblr and I read a post about how someone always has the bandaid equipped because she couldn't stand the look of the nose, and now I can't either.

-Better shop system. Seriously, most shop keepers talk WAY too much, and follow you around like you're a shoplifter(Seriously Mabel, get out of my way. How can I see what the outfit looks like with your spikes in the way.)

-Be able to buy more than one of the same items per day. Put a cap at like 5 bush or tree starts.

-The dreaded music of the T.I.Y store.

Hopefully in the next game Nintendo takes a look at what everyone has done in New Leaf, mainly the hacking of people's towns. I think they could learn a lesson from that. People are potentially corrupting their save files because of things that should have been implemented with New Leaf to begin with. If the next game gives players the customization that matches the hacking/glitching that people are doing now, it will probably hit more sales than New Leaf ever would.
