What Were Your Worst Injuries?

1995: Dislocated my right knee. Wore a leg cast for the rest of the year.

1997: Head injury. I fell off my bike and scraped my head against concrete. Nothing major, just minor bruises and cuts.

2004: Tore a muscle in my left knee, causing Thrombrosis.

2010: Got my handstuck in a machine at work and scraped some skin off.

Never really had a big injury. Only injury was probably 2 years ago.

I was playing tag with my cousins and they have a HUGE staircase. I got tagged and started chasing the other. They ran down the stairs and I ran after them. At the last few steps I fell. Considering I was 9 years old, I was crying...and laughing at the same time. I fell down the stairs with my ankle all screwed up, then I realized I had sprained my ankle. I was yelling for my mom and she came down. She saw what happened and I managed to actually walk back up the stairs and rest my ankle on my cousins bed. The next day my ankle hurt like hell and I had to get a cast on it and walk with crutches the whole rest of the month. And that's it.

Some kind of story huh?

I have never broken a bone in my body...

The biggest injury i probably had was when I was a baby and I hit my head extremely hard on the edge of a drawer and it made a dent on the side of my forehead. I still have it today.

I've also has a muscle strain on my right foot and i've had a toenail fall off.

Major injuries...?
hmmm...
Well, when i was about 7...
My friend and i were walking her dog, and i was running down a hill, knowing her, she let go of the dog, thus chasing me...I was screaming like a complete idiot while the dog followed me down a hill, tripped on a tree root, tumbled, fell on some rocks, got 8 stitches and got to have my knee "vacuumed" of rocks o-o
When i was about 10...? yeah 10 sounds right,
I figured out i had a pre-mature heart beat. (don't know if it counts as an injury, but :P)
It doesn't really bother me, because it's sort of like... a flutter? Kind of feels like my heart is skipping a beat, but in reality it's beating too early. It doesn't bother me that often, and it only happens between 5-10 times a month. Sometimes i'll have it once a day for a week or so, but it doesn't really affect me. It lasts between like 1 second - 10 seconds. Never longer. Takes me some time to recover, but i normally just breathe slowly, and steadily. Never had to be hospitalized for it; for now at least.
(don't think it gets worse with age, as long as i stay healthy)

I hope this thread is not too old to post in.

In 2010 I was snowboarding in Vail, Colorado and I had a collision with a tree and broke my femur. I was all by myself and in the trees and had to shout for help. Some really nice folks from South Africa heard me and came to help. 30 minutes later the ski patrol arrived and loaded me into the toboggan for transport downhill. I was extremely fortunate in the fact that I felt relatively little pain and was operated on by one of the best sports-injury surgeons in the world. They bored (drilled) a hole through the length of my femur from the top of my hip and hammered in a 16 inch titanium rod and secured that with screws on each end. No cast, but I was on crutches for 3 1/2 months. I also feel lucky that I broke my leg during one of the worst snow seasons Vail had ever seen, so I didn't miss too much.

Two years later and I feel like nothing ever happened, most of the time anyway. If I ride my bike too much or hike too far my hip definitely hurts.

My worst is when I impaled myself on a star picket (metal rod). The farrier (horse hoof trimmer and shoer) brought his dog with him to trim the horses hooves so me being 4 couldn't resist to pat it. I left the house, put my shoes on and headed down to the dog. We have some stairs in the garden and lining these stairs are rocks held in place by a star picket. I walked on these rocks and one came loose, in a blur I slipped and impaled my leg, nearly going to the bone. Wasn't pretty.

'Till this day I have six stiches and a scar that looks like a boomerang but that's my worst and only injury. Thankfully.
