I know not everyone on here has a job but I was just kinda thinking about this today. I lost my job due to the pandemic and worked a couple of temporary jobs since that have also ended. I am kinda taking a break because job openings are a little lacking for me right now. But I do want to try again soon. I was curious what jobs you all had in your life that you enjoyed the most.
For me it was my cleaning job I had. You just went in the early morning, did your thing, and go home.

I’ve only had three jobs and two of them were in childcare which I absolutely adored. I was a before & after school teacher for two years and I loved it so much. I would have my morning shift from 7-9 am and then an afternoon shift from 3-6 pm. I really loved the broken up hours with the kids (I had two different groups morning & afternoon) and I loved all my coworkers.

Most recently I was a full time preschool teacher and I really loved that job as well! I’m still heart broken about no longer working there. I would definitely still be there if it wasn’t for the pandemic and my dad being at risk if he catches covid. Generally my shift started between 7-7:30 am and I worked until 4-4:30 pm (save for when I would have a closing shift) and I loved it. I had my own classroom of three year olds which is my favourite age and I just loved the job so much. My coworkers were fantastic, my director was lovely for the most part, and getting to teach little ones just makes me so happy.

Probably the one I currently have. Not going to spoil what it is, but I will say it’s self-paced and a work from home job. Really, really grateful to have it during the pandemic.

I worked both retail and restaurant in the past and hated both of them. My retail job was my first job and I liked the pay I was making, but did not like my coworkers at all. My restaurant job was the opposite. I liked the people I worked with, but the pay and hours just weren’t enough.

I’m glad that I finally found something where I enjoy who I work with and where the pay and hours are both good. In the future though, once the virus isn’t as prevalent, I definitely want something full-time that meets all my expectations.

i used to work in a library and it was the best job i've ever had. currently i work at an unnamed giant coffee chain and it makes me want to End It

I would honestly say the job I currently have! I've only ever had three jobs, my first one being a children's swimming teacher (i would be in a pool for up to ten hours a day sometimes, I couldn't smell chlorine for months afterwards and it burned all my arm hair off) and then I was a nanny for a little six year old girl which was fun but her grandparents were a Nightmare and her parents got a divorce while I was working for them and asked me to write a statement for their Court Case which was not ideal

currently I'm working supporting people with intellectual disabilities and it can be super stressful and emotionally exhausting sometimes but the guys I work with are great and it's very rewarding!!

I like my current job, but I haven’t been able to work there in awhile. Hopefully I can go back soon.

My all time favorite job I’ve had was for a tattoo artist. She had her own line of products so I packaged them and answered the phone and ran errands for her. It was monotonous at times, but I got to watch tv while I worked and I had so much fun with everyone I worked with.

Mine is currently job in healthcare. It is gratifying with fine pay, though somewhat exhausting.
It will be interesting to see how less intensive it becomes outside of a pandemic.

I can relate. My first job was working in a cafe in an area that was heavily populated with tourists. I worked in the summer with no air conditioning being rushed off my feet continuously. My boss was a huge asshat too. So glad to be out of that job.

My current job is probably my favourite. I don't love it, but it's bearable most of the time. Most of my coworkers are great, most of the customers I get are good too and there's a real community-like feel in our store, which is great.

I think I'm fortunate to say that I've enjoyed all my internships and even current full-time job. My first job was teaching children about programming and science/engineering. That was very fun (kids are adorable when you're not the one responsible for them 24/7) and fulfilling to be part of their learning journey. Later on, I worked in various positions in the tech industry and generally enjoy the variability of my day-to-day work. Having good mentors/direct supervisors who put in the time to understand me and whom I could have open conversations with really helped, and seeing or even having the opportunity to chat with female leaders within the organizations motivated me to continuously work on myself.

i actually enjoy my job, im a pharmacist in a hospital and i work exclusively in the ICU. i get a lot of autonomy answering consults to dose tricky medications, i attend rounds and work with physicians to optimize medications for the critically ill, and a lot of residents/physicians/nurses seek pharmacist's guidance a lot so i love answering questions and helping out.
while its sad, theres always interesting/unique patient cases and rare disease states everyday to learn how to manage and i enjoy attending cardiac arrest codes or running to trauma resuscitations because it's just...exciting on my part. on the side i also look over pharmacy students and participate in research. the best part is all the other pharmacists i work with are such great people and i enjoy working with a lot of the doctors too. every day im so tired but its incredibly stimulating and i learn every single day and thats all i could ask for in a job.

One of the best jobs I've worked as far as general enjoyment goes, I'd have to say working with dogs in a grooming salon. That being said, any interactions with the owners kinda dampened the effect, because the business always wanted you to schmooze and upsell the customers. Being a salesperson is extremely unpleasant, but brushing a dog for twenty minutes? That's almost therapeutic.

i think my favourite job so far was when i was a sales associate at pet valu; surprisingly, i loved stocking and organizing the shelves, talking to the customers and meeting all of the pets that would come in. unfortunately, i had to quit earlier this year as my bosses and coworkers weren’t great to deal with but other than that, it was a nice job c’:

I've had three jobs (my education is in music for context haha):

1. Teacher at a private piano/voice school - didn't really like it. I enjoyed interacting with the kids but I didn't agree with the strict teaching methods the owner enforced. The entire admin system was also terribly disorganized - kids sometimes got double-booked for the same timeslot so I'd have to make one sit outside for half an hour because I was the only teacher in the studio, and the owner also lost my timesheet several times resulting in late or missing paycheques.

2. Assistant Conductor and Administrator of a children's choir - I liked the work itself but had a bad experience. So I actually got hired at the choir I had dreamed of working at since I was 12, but it didn't live up to my expectations at all. There were days when I enjoyed it (days when I actually got to interact with the kids and do useful things) but some days I would literally just show up, sit in a chair doing nothing for three hours, and then go home. It wasn't that there was no work to do, the two people in charge of the choir were just 1) too disorganized to have work ready for me to do and 2) a control freak. Towards the end of my time there it got worse and they did things like hiring someone else to take my position without informing me and excluding me from staff meetings for two months, even though they said I was doing such a great job. Finally in August they laid me off due to reduced choir enrollment because of COVID and I don't know if they plan on hiring me back (to....sit in a chair some more?) but I'll most likely say no.

3. My current job at a community multidisciplinary arts non-profit, which I absolutely love! I worked there every summer while I was in university and basically, my job was to write sheet music of original musical arrangements for a variety of singers and instruments by ear. The boss liked how organized I was so once I was in my last year of school, he asked me to become basically his assistant and trained me in grant-writing which I had no prior experience in. Now I work there full time and I spend most of my time writing grants to get us money to do projects to help the community, but I also assist with hiring/HR management and I still do the music stuff I used to do in the summer. The two main reasons that I love working here are 1) that the work is really meaningful and I can see how what we do helps people, and 2) the entire team is super supportive, awesome and fun!

I suppose I quite like the job I have now in fashion retail. It can be tiring sometimes and the people aren’t always amazing, and as a trans person it’s twice as hard to not come across as intimidating or just plain weird to co-workers, but it’s definitely the most enjoyable job I’ve had. Beats being a bartender at a club, I’ll say that much.

I love, love, loved working at the daycare center. However, I wasn't a fan of how it was run and how catty and disrespectful my coworkers could be. After that, I loved working at a bakery. It put me off of bread and donuts for months after (over-exposure made me lose my taste for them) but the actual job was a hoot. My only gripe was that I got flirted with so much that it was actually upsetting. Guess dudes just can't resist the flour-covered apron.

My background is HR. I recently completed a one-year term with a local franchise to create workplace policies, job descriptions, and business analysis reports. At the time we were working on finalizing a piece of software for the education tech market and determining how to introduce it to potential stakeholders. New legislation around workplace safety and the legalization of cannabis evolved during that time, so I was also working on updating policies surrounding workplace harassment, discrimination, and drafting brand new procedures for that legalization.

I'm always in my element when it comes to research, interviewing, and report writing. It's something I'm hoping to return to, but within a post-secondary environment. 😁
