I had a visitor who came over recently that dug up my buried items even after I asked them to stop. Before coming over, I did not tell them, but once they had dug up one I asked them to stop. Looking at their wifi ratings, I do see that they did get negative feedback for not following rules in another town. I don't want to give them negative feedback in fear of them giving me negative feedback, so I'm at a loss as to what Any suggestions?

Give them a neutral feedback. Its nor good nor bad. And you didn't tell them the rules? So its not really their fault...

If someone does something you don't approve of in your town I would just flick the wi-fi switch and not invite them over again. I would leave a negative rating as well. I think if someone leaves you a negative rating unfairly or as 'revenge' you can contact a mod to get them to remove it if you explain your side of the story, so I wouldn't worry about that. Sorry you had a bad experience though. :(

No, I did not tell them about any rules beforehand, so I am at fault for that. I just thought it was courtesy thing. However, after I did tell/ask them after they dug up the first item to not dig anything up, yet they continued to do so.

They told them to stop after the first one, yet they continued to dig items up. That's definitely on the visitor...

Personally, I'd give them negative feedback anyways. If they wrongfully give you negative feedback in return, then I guess you can get the mods involved, though I'm not really sure how that would work out.

Well if it was me I would leave a negative.

I didn't read the post right the first time I understand now though.

You should give them a negative feedback. You still told them not to do so, yet they still did.

I agree with all of these people, give them a negative feedback and if they give you one back get the mods involved. It beats letting them get away with something unpunished

You may not have told them about the rules beforehand but you asked them not to dig up those items and they ignored you. It seems that in that person's case, telling them the rules beforehand wouldn't have made much of a difference, since they've disrespected the rules of other towns.

I'd give them negative feedback. There isn't much you can do if they stole your items or if they were generally rude, but hopefully getting negative feedback will make them less likely to trade with other people. If they give you negative feedback, you can always explain the situation to a mod. Did they leave negative feedback to the person who left them negative feedback before?

I don't know if you did this or not and it's not bad if you didn't (since not everyone knows about this and I guess it would be easy to forget) but if someone is wrecking your town, you can flip the wifi switch before they get to the train station and it'll reset, so your town will be back to normal.

Personally, whether or not you have told them the rules before hand does not matter. If you did tell them once to stop and they do not abide to listen, then personally, I would've D/Ced on them and delete their FC because they still refused to listen to reason. Anybody that makes you feel uncomfortable or does not respect your rules should be immediately kicked from your town. I had encountered many people like this before I had came to BT and I now know how to handle the situation. If somebody on here has negative wifi feedback, (as well as depending on how much they have) then the odds are is that person does indeed have some poor qualities whith playing online with others, whether it's in trades or just simply coming over to visit. I would leave someone who had disrespected your rules on here with a negative feedback if they are from this site. Just remember to keep in mind the people you are inviting over and always check their wifi feedback to give you a better idea of who is decent and who isn't.

I did know about the wifi switch, but I didn't know exactly what everyone meant about it. They only dug up a fossil or two which wasn't a big loss. I'm just miffed that they continued to disrespect me/my town even after I asked them to stop. Once they dug up the second item I ended the session then I deleted the person off of my friends list.

Thank you everyone who has provided insight as to what to do. I did leave negative feedback and I created some town rules that I will send to everyone before I allow them to come to my town.

I just give them a negative feedback... I don't think many of the rule breakers are actually trying to steal something... they just dont think
