The theme of my town is medieval and I’m using a mixture of stone, dirt and a little bit of wood for paths. For furniture, I’m using a lot of stone and wood. I set up my town like a town with a tavern, market place and have a countryside area as well along with some ruins.
Mine’s a rainy forest kinda town with mossy stone paths and lots of purple flowers. I use the default stone path with a moss custom design overlay on the bottom area, which is where my shops are. There’s a small forest down there, plus a pirate beach with a pirate ship, a two-floor library, an outdoor bath area, and areas for Celeste and Blathers.
On the second level, there’s an orchard to left and some heart-shaped ponds with an arrow running through them. I want to make a character for my boyfriend and put him near those, but I haven’t gotten to it yet. To the right, there’s a greenhouse and a gardener character’s house , plus a flower area (shaped like a watering can).
The uppermost level is the neighborhood area, and it has that new dirt path that everyone loves, plus a playground and a small cafe.
My island is based off Yndertale, the main problem right now is figuring out where the tailors shop should be, its currently in the hotland area and I don't know where its should be instead. Still working on it, its look pretty good so far
Started over new and still have to figure out what kind of theme I'm going for this time. The old one was something like a suburbia/forest-ish theme, which however didn't work so great, as was not happy with how it turned out (mainly had problems to create a good looking neighborhood for my villagers). Hope to find some inspirations the next days.
I’ve went for a regal theme, so a lot of white and gold with statues and Celeste furniture. I’m using marble and white brick paths. However I also want to do a fairytale/ whimsical part of my island, particularly on the cliffs, like a secret fairy garden so I plan to use crystal patterns and the mush diy’s.
A general theme of "adventure" is starting to arise from my island, I've designed certain parts of it to be based on different biomes. I'm starting to collect ruins and statue furniture to make it look a bit more fleshed out, and I'm going to start collecting villagers who remind me of monsters to give the whole island a sort of dangerous vibe
I have decided to go for an Amsterdam themed island since the beginning. I've named my island Tynsterdam for that reason.
So far I'm very happy with my progress.
The East is the residential area and that's also where the stores are. It is pretty but simple with houses lined up, paved walkways, iron/stone fencing, and lots of lamp posts.
North central is where my house is, and it's decorated outdoors quite stately, meant to be kind of like a classical European style. I just need statues. If Redd would ever show up with them.
Central is where the museum is and that area is not complete, but it all looks nice from the map view. Lol.
Southwest is a tropical area, with bushes (which were originally flowering in the spring), boxing in palm trees and flowers.
The Northwest is a mountainy/woodsy area where the campsite is.
The theme of my island is Greek Mythology. My island is mostly stone, the villagers fit the theme, and the river is in the formation of a trident (Poseidon).
