so my friend had Pietro move out of her town, and right after he moved out, she visited my old town that I recently deleted and I also visited her. the other day I restarted with a new town, and freakin Pietro moves in from my friend's town. shouldn't he have been cleared from her void to my old town???

yes, the Pietro that moved in told me he came from my friend's town

then it was streetpass... did that pietro went to void when you guy visit each other or was it still in your friend town before you restared and went to the void once you restared

he was in her void when she visited my old town, then I deleted that town. that's why I don't get why he came to this new town.

then maybe it was streetpass because the program put it there when you got your new town

I've always felt that whole "clearing the void" thing to be more coincidence than solid fact. From what I can tell, there's no 100% guarantee to avoid getting streetpass villagers beyond just having a full town or turning the function off. Given some recent experience, I'm convinced villager data remains in the void until it finds somewhere to land.

I also had this exact thing happen - the villager was somehow connected to StreetPass
I had reset my town and they still showed up from the other town!!!

These villagers will go to extremes to avoid the Void!
I sometimes go to two towns to clear the void. Just to be extra trying to prevent void move-ins
