So I was exploring the possibilities of the update and getting villagers has become so much easier.

Usually when you wanted a villager, you make it on a wishlist to try to find that villager and attempt to put them in the perfect plot. But now it's just, you have the amiibo, poof, you got your dreamy! Too many villagers? Don't wait to box one up, you can just kick them out!

That's great for people to kick out their villagers faster, but the villager will never get gotten from someone else. My village is full of unpopular villagers because most of them were adopted. If I wanted to kick a villager out I would want to give them another home, not to move into the void...

Getting a dreamie takes not a whole lot of effort to do unless the amiibo is rare. But I think having the amiibo and doing that process is much easier than the process of finding a villager on the Trading Plaza.

I'm just thinking about the good and bad side about the whole amiibo thing. Overall I love it though.

wait what?? how do you kick out villagers??

i'm also confused as to how to use amiibo to move in villagers. are amiibo cards good enough or do i need actual physical amiibos?

When you talk with a villager that wants to move in if you have too many villagers, they will ask if there is someone you would want to kick out acnlbestfeature.jpg

When you kick out a villager, they go into boxes instantly. I can't confirm either way yet, but it seems like it'd be possible for someone to adopt them then. I think a lot of people are just assuming that the villager will be in boxes the following day and finding them unexpectedly gone, instead of checking the villager's house immediately after choosing to kick them out.

the good news: if someone wants the villager you're kicking out, you can invite them over and they can still take them!! you may be surprised what villagers people may want.

I just expedited and kicked Merry out for another user to take with her. ^_^ The villager immediately goes into boxes and leaves the next day, but it's a big enough window for them to be adopted.

but can someone still adopt a villager who is brought in by amiibo?
can you get amiibo villagers to move out and in boxes?

Well, as of now, none of the amiibo that give us these villagers seem rare. The LoZ characters are pretty common in most places, as well as splatoon. It could just be my area, but I see them all rather often now that Nintendo has increased production for most new amiibo. Some were already common before that though!

The only amiibo that less people will probably have is Wolf Link, because he's only available with the Twilight Princess HD, and that's a hefty price. However, you can obtain the Wolf Link villager from Smash Zelda and Smash Link. Both common amiibo. I'm gonna need to borrow my friend's amiibo to get Epona, Medli, and Cece though. I have no money right now.

I don't have the wolf link amiibo but could I adopt him somehow - anyone know?

Use Smash Link or Zelda. If you don't have them, ask another player who has him? No one seems to know about giving these special villagers to other people yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible?

You'll still have to plot reset, though, won't you?

Also, I'm guessing this update will make villager prices go down a lot, since it seems they removed the 16 villager cycle, so I'm guessing someone with a Marshal amiibo, for instance, could just have him move in and adopt him out as often as they want. Hoping to see if that's true, because it sounds totally nice.

Just a note - it seems that when you get Wisp to kick out a villager in order for your amiibo villager to move in, they will take up the exact same plot that the kicked out villager was living in. Which is fine if you're happy with the plot placement, but if you're trying to get rid of a villager who has built their house in a bad place, this method of moving out villagers won't be too helpful.

The villager will be in boxes as soon as you've finished talking to Wisp, and will be gone the next day. Your new amiibo villager will have made a plot in the same place.

EDIT// Never mind, seems like Stitches moving into the exact same spot as Violet was just a coincidence, just kicked out Rosie for Bianca, and Bianca hasn't moved in the same space.

I've heard that scanned in amiibo villagers become permanent residents and won't move/no one can adopt. Anyone know anything about this?

@sylviabee - Nope! Amiibo villagers can definitely be moved out just like ordinary villagers. I've just managed to kick out a scanned in Rosie for Bianca :)

thats ridiculous
gosh this is not even animal crossing anymore, they're making everything so easy

I kind of agree, to be honest. The villagers are starting to feel more like dolls than other independent entities.

Really this game is basically awarding you for actually buying amiibo. Basically if you have an amiibo, the game will treat you nice and letting the amiibo move in easier. Sure villager bell prices will go down, but I'd imagine that a valued villager's amiibo card would be worth a lot of real money.

...basically collectible card trading.

well it makes sense because nintendo wants a lot of people to buy the amiibo cards xD
