I have a little dilemma here. I'm in the process of deciding my dreamies and I keep changing my mind. Yesterday, I had an idea though. I want Winnie and Julian to be a couple, and Phoebe is the queen of my zen area, but I don't know who else. So why don't I just do Winnie, Julian, Phoebe, and then seven of one species? It would be really neat and emphasize the fact that Winnie, Julian and Phoebe are all really mythical. I was thinking about doing either an all deer town or an all cat town. But that would mean I couldn't have any of my favourites, like Bertha or Agnes or Blanche. And what if someone left and there wasn't another animal of the same species and personality, like if I lost Bam? And would it make my town boring or flat? I'm completely stuck here, what do you think?

Pros of having an all-species town:

It would make it more clear that Julian, Winnie and Phoebe are all mythical creatures

I've never had an all-species town before so it would be an eye-opening experience for me.

It would look neater than if I just had random species

Cons of having an all-species town:

There would be a less diverse selection in my town, which might make it look
flat and dull.

If someone left and there wasn't another animal of that same personality and species, I'd be stuffed.

I can't have any of the villagers I really like, and I might get bored of having the same species all the time.

I think having an all species town could be really fun, just to experience it! If you get bored you could always switch the species or have a mixed species town later. You could probably love the problem of getting bored or having to worry about unexpected move outs by choosing a species that has a tonnn of villagers, like cats, bunnies, or dogs.

You could also maybe do a broader species, like birds (sparrows, eagles, ducks, ostriches, penguins, and chickens), rodents (squirrels, hamsters, bunnies, mice), or bears (bears and cubs), that way you have a little more variety! Depending on the theme of your town, you could also maybe choose villager species with a certain theme, like farm (chickens, horses, cows, piggies, goats, sheep) or forest animals (deer, bears, bunnies, squirrels, sparrows, wolves) which may also help you distinguish your mythical creatures from the others, while not limiting yourself quite so much!

Unrelated, but if you want mythical creatures maybe Drago could fit too!

"I can't have any of the villagers I really like,"

That, to me, is the most important thing. You should fill up your town with the villagers you like best. But even with that aside, I would still aim for a multi-species town if I were you. I understand your point about wanting to emphasize your mythical villagers, but having the rest be from the same species would seem off-balance to me. That's just my opinion though. At the end of the day, you've gotta do what makes you happiest!

I say just let your town be natural, don't try to control which villagers will move in, go with the flow and don't go for an all species town

I vote this. I know for a fact that if you can't have the villagers you want, you won't be happy.

i think you should get villagers you like and want. so if you want to have agnes, blanche and bertha i think you should.

i personally have an all frog town and i love it lots. but that's because i love the frog villagers, they're my favourites. i had such a hard time choosing between which frogs i wanted in my town, so i got another copy of the game and made an all frog town. but imo the thing isn't really that it's only one villager type, it's that i love them all a lot!!!

Exactly what I was thinking. Mythic animals then suddenly cats? Huh? Would look awkward. Like are the 1 species worshiping the starkly different ones? lol And I'm confused- what mythical creature is Winnie? She has a star on her head I see. I want a pegasus in this game darn it. At least we have a unicorn.

Yea, I just like to imagine the star on Winnie's head used to be a unicorn horn before it got hunted, and part of my town's backstory is that nobody knows Winnie and Julian even exist and you're right, the other villagers do worship Phoebe, but I'm thinking about leaving her out.

I've decided against having an all-species town, everyone!
