So, I made a new town this morning and I spent ages resetting to find a good one. After finding three amazing maps, only to discover that they were filled with pears, I was about to give up. But then I found THIS... (sorry for the massive picture XD)

I just had to take this map because I love symmetry and the native fruit is the peach. However, I'm concerned that I won't be able to organise the layout very well due to the lack of large open spaces. What do you think I should do? I want to find a good place for the following:

~The Roost
~A housing estate
~Fruit orchards
~Any PWPs (I haven't decided which ones to have yet, so I'm open to any suggestions)
~Flower fields

It might be worth noting that I'd like a dirt path leading from my house to the south of town, lined with perfect peach trees and flowers.

I might reset if I'm struggling to make it look good, but that will be a last resort since it took so long to find a map like this.

Thanks in advance!

based on what you said, you could have the peach orchard in the area south of your home with a path leading south through it. I think the cafe would look cute kind of where you are standing, it could be kind of like a beach-front cafe. and you could put some flowers around the plaza, that would be lovely as well~ just a few suggestions from Mairen

Thanks! I'll probably end up putting the caf? where I'm standing like you said, or possibly a bit further south. Flowers around the plaza would look nice too!

The Roost would look nice almost anywhere on your map. You could place it to the right-hand side across the train station or by the town square. It would also look cool near the sea or near the orchard. It could also look good near the town hall and Re-Tail but it might look crowded in the game.

The housing estate would look really nice along the bottom cliff. I don't know how many houses you want it to have but if there's a lot of them in a row, that's the best spot since it would be less crowded there.

The orchards would look good on the right-hand side, on the cliff where the mayor's house is or on the cliff above it (the one with the pirate beach). It could also look good around or near the square.

I don't know which PWPs would be good because that depends on theme or look you want. If you want some benches, they'd be awesome facing the sea or river, or on the north side of the square.

Thanks for the suggestions! Here's what I'm thinking so far...

I was already thinking about having the housing estate in the south, so now I can pretty much confirm that will happen. I think I'll have eight houses maximum on the south coast, since that's the most crowded I'm willing to have it.

The roost will most likely be slightly south of where my character is standing.

There will be an orchard on each of the narrow strips of land, and the peaches will be south of the mayor's house.

I would put the roost directly below the tree but across the river, where it goes up in a little spike - it would fit in there quite nicely :)

I just saw a similar map in a dream. This isn't one of your questions, but for what it's worth I thought it was neat that they put the 4 character houses in the center with the river on three sides and the villagers across the river. And that is an amazing map, btw!

Granted I'm not really good at this, and this was only done in five minutes. Yet, perhaps something like this. Map.jpg
With the green boxes being your tree orchards, the pink your flower fields and a lighthouse where Lloid is.

This is very, very neat and I like it.

All these suggestions are making me wish I had a better map even though I like mine! This is such a cool idea.

Possibly! I might end up putting a bridge there, but if not I'll consider your suggestion. We'll see

Yeah, it took ages to get this map :) I saw one like it in a dream and knew that I had to have it :D

Wow, I like your ideas! I appreciate that you took the time to make that picture. It's great how the human character houses and southern bridges are symmetrical. You must have been paying attention to the original post .

I also like how you included things I forgot to mention, such the police station and the campsite. You also left some room for anything I might choose to add in the future (north of the plaza), which is good, whether it was intentional or not :)

Funnily enough, I was already going to put a lighthouse exactly where you mapped it out :D
