what should i do about this cycling thread conflict?

i run a cycling thread and just now, two people posted within 3 minutes of each other asking to reserve willow! they hadn't seen one another's posts beforehand so i'm not sure if i should treat it as a narrow 'first come first serve' or auction her? which do you think would be a better way to handle the situation?

Personally i would just go with the one whose post showed up first. It's chance.

i'd agree with maplecheek, i feel like first come first serve may be more fair than choosing to auction her.

that's what i was going to go with, yeah --
i didn't want to upset the other one, but that is the more ethical solution.
