What router do you have?

I'm looking for a new router. My current one doesn't really let me connect with others, even though I have gone through all the self-help and fix-it guides I can find. I have heard that Belkin routers tend to have way more difficulty connecting with others than other routers, so I decided to test that theory.

1.What router do you have?
2.Will it let you connect with everyone with ease?
3.Were you able to connect with people from the start or did you have to go into your router/internet settings and change the firewall stuff in order for you to be able to connect?

Please help me out. At the moment, all I'm going on when I head to the store is "get anything but a belkin router". Heh

No one knows what router they have? I just need the brand name, not the serial number or anything. It can be found on the bottom of your router.

I actually just bought a new router today since my old one stopped working.

1. I just bought a Netgear router.
2. Yep I have been able to go to other peoples' towns with no problem.
3. Nope I literally did nothing except for hooking up the router to my laptop in which it then installed itself and it worked perfectly fine.

Also I talked to the people at he tech store and they said that linksys is also a great brand for routers so if you can't find a Netgear router I would then would go with linksys. I'm pretty sure they even told us to stay away from belkin routers xD, but anyways best of luck to you in your search!

My old router was one of these as well and it lasted a good 5-6 years and worked perfectly fine.

I also have a Netgear right now, a bit basic for me, but no problems with ACNL (or any other game).
