What rating would you give this game?

Imo probably around 8-8.5/10 for me rn

If it wasn't for the quarantine, probably a solid 7. The reason why I gave it a higher score is because it's the only entertaining game that's keeping me through the quarantine compared to other games.

I do think it's a little early and we aren't at the finished product just yet.

I feel like its too early to rate the game, since there might be more add-ons and stuff, but again i wish they were all there from the start lol. Like I'm secretly hoping that when Leif shows up on Earth day he will sell bushes because I miss it so much. I also feel like many of us were thrown off because Bunny day, it happened really soon after the release and everyone hated it. But for me now its a 8\10. I enjoy most things but I wish there were bushes, wish you could craft more than one item at a time and i wish items weren't color locked.

Like...6/10. I don't love it but I don't hate it. It doesn't give me the same 'my villagers need me and love me and are my friends' vibe like new leaf did. I feel very detached from my villagers so I don't like it that much, it feels more like a decorating game than a neighborly game.

8/10. It would be a 9 if the villager glitches weren't giving me a constant state of anxiety.

Glitches and bugs aside, as they're slowly being fixed... I give ACNH a solid 10 out of 10.

It's a genuinely solid game with a lot of amazing features, and will be supported for quite some time with free updates that we don't even know the extent of what will be added.

As for the others in the series:
- Animal Crossing Population: Growing! -- 9/10
- Animal Crossing Wild World - 6/10
- Animal Crossing: City Folk - 7/10
- Animal Crossing New Leaf - 8/10
- Animal Crossing New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo - 9/10

My ratings for all the games based on my enjoyment when I did play them as well as how much I played them is this:

AC PG: 6/10
AC WW: 4/10
AC CF: 7/10
AC NL: 9/10
AC NH: 8/10 but I feel like after a year it could go up to 9/10. I need to see how long I play for and what the updates bring.

8 out of 10.

It'll be a 10 once all the bugs are fixed and I don't get anxiety every time a new villager moves in c:

GameCube: 9/10
Wild World: 6/10
City Folk: 8/10
New Leaf: 10/10
New Horizons: 9/10
Pocket Camp: 1/10 lets be real

5 out of 10. And my explanation will not cover the bugs and glitches. We should be using them to make jokes about how Nintendo obviously hired Bethesda to make this game xD Seriously though, I understand the bugs are a problem, but I want to focus on the content in explaining my reasoning for a 5 out of 10.

The negatives are that the game is watered down and not all cut content will be coming back. Not to mention that some cut content that we're claiming is coming back MIGHT not be coming back the way we expect it to. The island is too small for such an amibtious project of decorating the island (even with terraforming). And, of course, Nintendo decided innovation was more important then improving upon what made New Leaf such a great game.

The positives are that the traditional charm and base elements of Animal Crossing are there. You keep coming back for more because the game keeps drawing you in. The drive to pay off your loan or save up for the bridges you want to craft to make your island come together and even trying to find all the best furniture to customize your house as it grows.

The positives and the negatives balance each other out. Nintendo should have done soooo much differently then they did when making this game but, at the end of the day, everything that makes Animal Crossing...well...Animal Crossing...is still there. We'll have to see what the future holds in terms of additional content. I'd say after one whole year, we can make better judgements on how the additional content will improve the game, if at all.

I'd say a solid 8/10. I cant seem to put it down for very long. Though, there are definately things I would change if I could; but its an extremely solid base for the game.

This is my first Animal Crossing game tho. Never seemed like one I'd be into.

Oh, how very wrong I was...

Totally agree with 8/10. I’m enjoying the game a lot and playing it every day, but it’s definitely a huge step down from new leaf. I probably would have given NL a 9.5/10. There’s just too much content that I was excited for that’s missing from this one. So many of my issues with NL have been fixed but at the expense of things I valued more.

GC: I'm definitely biased here...Nostalgia goggles make me want to rate it a 10/10
WW: Loved it at the time, but in hindsight it's probably the weakest entry 7/10
CF: Didn't play this one much because it felt like a WW copy, so 7/10
NL: Felt the most complete and well-rounded overall 10/10
NH: I'm not happy with some of the changes that have been made but there is potential for improvement, a tentative 7.5 or 8/10

Whoa what did New Leaf do to deserve a 0?
Not my cup of tea. Keep in mind this is all my opinion so small trigger warning before I start.

The game was built as a proof of concept that was later perfected by New Horizons aka PWPs and outside furniture.
ACNL failed as an example and Nintendo learned from those mistakes. Some examples would be the high amount of forced restrictions brought with town building and the hand-holding that came with. In NL, they were often very expensive, 3k for house bench and 30k for PWP town bench. Besides that as an obvious turn off to most players, it also had a large list of problems: Wasnt movable, wasn't removable, lack of design or options for variety, require tons of space which made it impossible in most areas, etc, etc. Although, I do give NL credit for being that necessary failure for the creation of the perfect game NH.

I personally have a strong hatred towards the characters including Isabell because their personification/personality was made solely to exist as a constant nag to the player. NPCs did nothing but hand hold during the game with very little dialogue options. Remember being interrogated/quizzed to change your character's looks?! The game lacked a sense of freedom that it promised.

They tried the idea of adding specific items to the town via PWPS and these were absolute useless unless placed perfectly. I'm not gonna jump on you, so I'm just genuinely curious :) Your reasoning makes a lot of sense

City Folks had lower review than WW yet it a better version of WW? Confuse
If you look at the other answers, I'm not the only one who felt this way. Yeah it was good but since it only slightly better then the original it was kind of a carbon copy....even the music wasnt new. Not enough was new. Just my opinion :)

2/5. Extremely glitchy, far less upgrades to shops and additions than New Leaf, and there's hoenstly a lot of things they could do to improve player experience that should've been thought of in the years of development.
