If you could create a new ability or abilities, what would they be or what would they do? You can give them names too.

Here are my ideas:

1. Conditioner - STAB Moves will have a 50% chance of causing a Status Condition. I would make it exclusive to Ice Pok?mon.
2. Reverser - resists types they are normally weak to, but weak to types they normally resist. Similar to Inverse Battles, but for regular battles.
3. Earth Circuit - Electric Moves are super-effective against Ground, Rock, and Steel.
4. Super Smart - Psychic Moves will attack Dark Pokemon. Similar to Scrappy, but for Psychic moves.
5. Non-Believer - Grants immunity to Fairy moves.

1. Bewildering - Contact moves against this Pok?mon will always result in confusion. Would probably give a decent role to an otherwise mediocre Pok?mon. Players would have to consider the possibility of this Pok?mon switching in.

2. Defeatist - Though this ability already exists, I would definitely change it. When a Pok?mon is above 50% HP, its Attack and Special Attack are doubled. When it is below 50% HP, those same stats are cut in half.

I don’t know if an ability like this exists or not (someone please check for me, lmao), but this could be an interesting one:

1. Hazard Breaker - Immediately upon switch in of this Pokemon all hazards (spikes, toxic spikes, stealth rock, etc.) are removed from the field. I would put this on flying type Pokemon as well as others in order to help reduce stall battles in the competitive scene.

Cannot think of any others right now, but if I do think of more I’ll come back and post them.

Something that still kills a Pok?mon even if it has Sturdy or such, like that ability is one of the more annoying even if you can probably work around it...

Wonder armor: super effective hits cannot land on this pokemon
( basically a reverse Shedinja ability )

Shining armor: if the pokemon is at full HP the first attack that this pokemon deals to it's opponent increases in strength by 50%

Elitist: if the pokemon has less HP than it's opponent all this pokemon's moves become priority attacks, but lose 20% of their strength.

Loner: if this pokemon is the last pokemon on your team it's attacks deal 25% more damage
( the rest HAS to be ko'd )

Focus point: doubles speed when inflicted with a status condition ( including paralysis )

Dizzy prancing: immunity to confusion ( including self inflicted )

Unknowing: full immunity to ALL status conditions ( including confusion and infatuation, and such )

Steam engine: increases speed when hit by a fire move ( basically motor drive for fire types )

Double edged: can not be hit by multi-hit attacks.

Camouflage: gains immunity to the strongest attack of the opponent ( if 2 or more moves have the same base power, the move that would deal the most damage due to type effectiveness would be negated, if 2 or more moves would still deal the same amount of damage, than both will be negated )

( i was thinking of just making 1 be negated but that would be to mush of a gamble )

i thought these would be pretty neat.

why the heck would you want levitate gone ?

During battles it's confusing when the move says super effective yet it isn't due to levitate.

I've only just gotten back into Pokemon after a decade break.

It shouldn't say a move is super effective when it can't ever hit the target.

It's confusing is all.

I think there is an easier solution here: simply make it tell you the move will have no effect. If I am correct, if a Pok?mon has levitate, they won't have a second or hidden ability, so it wouldn't be too detrimental in online battles where you usually don't want your opponent to know your ability.

I'm talking about the Battle Tree, but nevermind. I know now, so I won't make the same mistake again.

Shame about Gengar losing it to Cursed Body though..

just learn what the abilities are, and what pokemon have what abilities.
it's easy.

i do competitive battling, and when i'm up against a pokemon that's weak to earthquake, i don't do that attack unless, i know all flying types, and levitate ability mons are gone.

it's not at all confusing, just learn your abilities, and it's not confusing.

Yes it is easy.. but there are around 600 more Pokemon now than when I last played and earthquake affected a lot of them that are no longer affected by it.

Anyway, I know most of them now.

there was no old pokemon that gained levitate as it's ability since the last 10 years...
there were just new pokemon, who just happened to have the ability.
such as eelectross it was new, and it had the ability.
gengar and weezing had levitate since gen 3 ( the introduction to abilities. )
flygon and claydoll had levitate since their debut.

there is itterally notheing you can have against levitate.
it just grands immunity to the powerful, ( and over used ) earthquake. ( and other ground type attacks )

As I said before, there are over 600 new Pokemon that I am still getting to know.
