what makes you nervous?

My first interaction with people I've never spoken to is quite intimidating.

When guys flirt with me I get pretty nervous too because l've had to deal with uncomfortable situations that I'd rather avoid altogether.

Certain insects and spiders also make me nervous because I'm terrified of them both >.>

being in the car when my dad's driving. holy. crap. i feel nauseous in the car with him. he drives far too dangerously for my liking ;n; i always have to stop him from going on his phone when he's driving because it literally frightens me. he goes crazy fast too.

reminiscent of my dad when I was a kid, but for me I love every moment of it. He never followed the rules, He loves drafting other cars for the fun of it. 12 feet rule doesn't apply to him. My dad trained me to drive when I was only 7 yrs, lol. good times. When I was in my early teens he'll leave his car keys on the table just to temp me to drive all alone. Yep my dad was awesome.

Being in the dark. It tends to make me really paranoid. Sometimes I end up sleeping with a light on because of it. I usually end up turning it off later in the night when the paranoia is gone... but still.
Talking to people who I've been introduced to or met before, and have an interest in befriending, makes me incredibly nervous as well. I usually don't unless they talk to me first or unless I'm with someone who knows them better.

Sneezing in a crowd... Don't know why, I guess I think people will judge my sneeze or think I'm a sicko >-<

Also...going up stairs in dresses/skirts. I always seem to trip going up the stairs, and I hate it when there's people behind me... o-o

Bugs. I'm just like Blathers. X3
Also, things like spelling bees, even though I ALWAYS win.
The day before the first day of school (just yesterday...) I'm not really hungry, and play New Leaf all day to calm myself.

Basically everything to a degree. If I'm talking in front of a crowd on a topic I'm not too familiar with (i.e. a presentation for school) I get nervous, especially when I'm alone. If I haven't practiced a piece enough for band, I get nervous if I have to play it. If I think I'm going to be late, if I'm not sure if I should say or do something, if I'm dressing up too much or too little for a party, the list goes on. I'm only very comfortable when I'm with a group of close friends or I'm talking about a topic I know a lot about with other people who are interested. I'm a very nervous person in general.

Meeting new people makes me very nervous. Along with that, my first day at a new job also makes me nervous. It's partly meeting the new people, and it's partly learning all the new stuff.

School, people older than me, people that I would like to hang out with but just don't "fit in" with, and my entire family for some reason XD I am wayy less shy around my friends than my family, and I don't even know why, because they are nice and everything, and there really isn't much about them that should make me nervous.

Out of interest, why people older than you? I've friends double my age and even dated people 10+ years older than me, so I'm interested in hearing the reasoning behind this.

I'm not sure because I'm not them, but I think some people are intimidated by people who are older than them.

I'm not nervous around older people though; I'm actually more comfortable around older people than people my age. Most people my age in my area are immature jerks.

Pretty much, people that are older than me tend to intimidate me/make me nervous, I really don't know why they intimidate me but I just really can't explain it. And it isn't like people in my class that may be a few months older than me, it is a more significant age difference, like 3+ years older than me. Pretty much the only people I have been able to get very comfortable with that are older than me is my brother, mom and dad, and 3 of my MANY cousins, all of which are 16-17. By the way, I am only 13. One of the three cousins is stretching it a bit, mainly because I haven't ever had deep conversation with them, just laughing with each other and doing really weird things xD But as we have grown older I think both of us have grown more uncomfortable with each other, and I don't really know why.

The whole thing with being nervous around my family/people older than me kind of irritates me because it causes me to be very quiet, and seem to have an attitude because of it, but I really don't. They just don't really know me THAT well because I am always sooo quiet around them. So it seems that they have just labelled me as the quiet and pouty type I guess. I am a very shy person until I get comfortable with someone. The whole not being able to control it is what makes it terrible. A lot of you might say "Just talk to them more" But it is very hard for me to do so. I know, it is very complicated.

That's weird... I never got along with my older cousins (or we never talk) but I'm fine with older people. You're only 13 so I'm assuming you haven't got to high school yet. Once I got into high school it actually got better. Yes, it's intimidating to a freshmen to see all these upper classmen around you. But once you actually get there, it's not so bad. You learn people have other concerns and if you have classes with upper classmen you see they can be pretty cool with you  Idk why but it's a 13 yr old thing to be afraid of older people, I guess you just feel like you can't live up to older people's shaddows.
