What's really enjoyable for you when you visit dream towns? Is it the outfits they leave or just the minor details they leave? Let me know!

Towns that have an abundance of the Fairy Tale PWPs and Fairy Tale themes. They look so cheesey to me.

I don't think it's right to express what 'bothers' us about other towns, it's their designs and ideas and we really shouldn't say bad things about it.

I think what annoys me is that people have so many hybrids ;-; i wish i could have lots of gold roses

Like I stated above this is not a hate thread :( I just wanted others opions to help improve my town

Some things that bother me the most in other people's towns:

- Messy or cluttered towns, ex. Trash on the ground/Barely any grass
- Un-completed rooms or rooms that block people off from areas
- Bare beaches or beaches with trash

I think it looks terrible when you fill every empty spot with hybrids.
Water patterns look so cheesy. It irks me how they're supposed to be water but you can walk on them.
I hate it when you can't see any grass.

In the end, it's your town design it how you want. But those things irk me.

If you want advice on what to do you for your town to make it enjoyable for other people to visit, I'd say, get really creative with your interior decorating. I see a lot of houses made up entirely of holiday sets when I use the dream suite, and while they're nice sets and I get the appeal, I also like to see more unique decorating styles. I set aside the basement for every house/character of my own town for my favorite holiday sets, but leave the remainder of the rooms for different themes.

Thank you for the feedback!

No problem! I hope it helps, and that I didn't sound rude.

You weren't rude at all! I was planning on doing a School, Gym/Spa, and a Shop I made this thread to help me make my town more enjoyable not to hate on others towns

Meanwhile, I don't think it's fair to automatically assume that a criticism shouldn't be expressed. Gripes and complaints are as equally valid opinions as anything else when phrased constructively, and this was already stated to not be a thread against any one person or particular sense of style. I, for one, find what people dislike and why to be a rather interesting read.

Digressing, I do agree that one seeking for opinions shouldn't hide intent. It's easier to use a straight answer than jury-rig one together yourself.

Keeping on topic, though, I haven't gotten to see enough towns to really form an opinion. Though I can think of about a dozen about how the game itself lets you decorate or presents itself. :/ I don't want a back room in my house, for example, because of the gigantic hole it's doorway is going to leave on that wall... but I do want to rehaul my exterior's design, which requires a fully upgraded house. -.-

I just changed the title to be more clear hopefully that will help :)

I get pm's from people saying how nice my towns are, but once in a while I'll get a review where someone has something negative to say about everything. It used to bother me, but doesn't anymore. Not everyones going to like the same things.

Theres really nothing that irks me about others towns except a lot of clutter. I do like to see some natural grass, and flowers neatly placed. I really like looking at unique and creative houses. Coming up with room ideas that are different from any i've seen is my favorite thing to do in new leaf. I love visiting houses that do the same.

I like when dreams leave out clothing. It's fun to dress up as a character or a tourist or something. I really don't care for the pjs, but it doesn't distract too much.

Another good thing in dream towns is having good paths. Even if it isn't a pattern, dreamers should know what is a walkway. A visitor shouldn't get lost or feel trapped by the greenery. Some towns over do the bushes and trees. I've gotten stuck in bush room and halls before.
