What kindve item is the mermaid shelf...

Different items go into different categories.. im wondering about where the mermaid shelf and lots of other items fall on this categorie list. is there any website where i can find out? If so please let me know.. thanks!

If I were to guess: The category 'None'.

It seems like one of those items that villagers would be able to put in any 1x2 area that isn't specifically categorised like the beds etc.

For a list, the second tab of the popular 'Villager furniture replacement guide' has one. It does only list the items that actually have a specific category, so if it's not listed, you can pretty safely assume that it doesn't have a category. Here's a link:

Huh, that's odd. The entire guide (and the list) are a google sheets document and I linked directly to it, so I'm not sure what I can do to fix this for you...

Items with the label 'None' can indeed only go in spots that also have the label 'None'. From what I've seen, an item in the category 'bed' can go onto a spot with category 'none' but never the other way around.
