What job(s) have you had?

Yeah I guess so? What's the difference?
Kroger Marketplaces have restaurants in them as well as a Fred Meyer's jewelry section and many, many more things. My store doesn't. Mine has maybe 25 aisles?

I've been working at Kroger since November. I was a Courtesy Clerk (bagger/cart pusher/custodian/the entire store's b****), and I moved to Produce in May. I really enjoy most of the Produce department (Free food, yeah!), but my hours have been cut drastically (26 per week versus about 36 I was getting a couple months), and I've been working 8.5 hour shifts by myself the whole time, and it's extremely stressful and frustrating. I've probably spent the last 80 hours of working with maybe a total of 5 hours with another person working with me in the department. I got a $0.10 raise to move up to Produce (only making $7.45 an hour), and I'm honestly not sure why I haven't quit and gotten a job at Taco Bell. At least they start at $8 an hour, and I guarantee their employees don't even have to deal with half of the crap that I do. It's definitely better than doing everything someone tells you to do, but I'm going to move back up to the Front End (Customer Service, Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks) as a Floor Supervisor. That pretty much means I make sure that Courtesy Clerks do their chores (bathrooms, cart pushing, store sweeps, getting supplies) and also keep track of giving everyone his or her breaks. Floor supervisors also often open up a register when it gets backed up, assist at the Customer Service desk, and operate Self-Checkout. Beats being separated from the outside world for 8 hours at a time.

I volunteer at the local animal shelter and cook meals for the homeless with Family Promise on a regular basis. Obviously not a "job" though.
You made me remember how much I hated being a bagger at Kroger.

We have a bunch of Kroger's with Starbucks and only one is a marketplace. They add them if there is a big enough demand.

my current and only job I've had is working as a cashier at Culvers. It's pretty much the place where all teens start work around here, lol

Well Store 862 was built in the 80's, so it doesn't have much room to accommodate for restaurants, haha

I don't have a job. ;^;
Great contribution.

It's not a restaurant. It's a stand.

The store I worked at was a 24 hour one built forever ago and rarely got remodels. It had nothing and was always on the top of lists to get things, but bumped so another store could. We had customers come in and tell us it was the same countertop from when the store opened.

I'm Apple's Campus Rep at Arizona State. Has me flying back in forth between corporate and Arizona at least 6 times a month; Flight Rewards are my financial savior.

HoneyBaked Ham,a few mom and pap stores,Working for the state of california and currently working for Google in the city of SF.

I've only ever had retail jobs at mall clothing stores which is like lame as hell except for getting a discount on clothes

I've done catalogue deliveries for a few companies (still doing some), Putting up Open home signs for a Real Estate (doing that at the moment as well). My main job is working as a Vet Nurse, had the job for 2 years now but only recently just started studying for my certificate IV in vet nursing.

Well, I was a kennel worker. It was an internship at an animal clinic. I don't think we treated the dogs very well. We only had four big cages, six medium cages, and twelve small dog cages. Sometimes we'd put a big dog in a medium cage and he'd look so cramped.

Anyway, I hated it. I was promised that I'd learn how to inject vaccines, clip nails, greet customers, etc. but all I did was clean. One time, my supervisor made me clean the same window for 40 minutes because she couldn't find anything for me to do.

I think this was kinda sad too. When we had to put down a dog, the vet tech talking to the women who was having the dog put down was talking calmly and so nicely but then when she walked out she said,"She just won't shut up..." under her breath. Her best friend is dying so yeah, she is gonna cry. This isn't uncommon for a lot of places though.

All around, bad coworkers and NO experience other than cleaning and tolerating others. I haven't been able to get a job in months...

I'm curious... what country are you from? The clinic sounds a lot like mine before we started expanding the clinic.

Ahhhh my job experiences....
Well, I haven't really done that much in the way of having loads of jobs but I did have this one for like a year. It was volunteer work, so I didn't get paid. It was for a worthy cause but it wasn't really like I was helping anyone with anything anyway. I worked in an Op Shop (or thrift shop if you please) and spent hours folding ties and buttoning up shirts. I then had the realisation that no one was really going to not buy a shirt because the buttons were not done up and that this wasn't really helping anyone directly fight poverty, so I decided to move on. I would like to have a job sometime as I am broke and stuff but yeah....
That's my wonderful story, I hope that you enjoyed it.......

I worked in retail for a couple years, then four years at Tim Horton's (Canadian coffee chain). I don't work right now because I'm a full time university student with two children at home, so keeping a part-time job would mean either that my grades suffer dramatically or that I never get to see my kids, neither of which I'm willing to sacrifice.

Working in retail was fun because I love merchandising/doing stock, but I HATE having to upsell. I grew up without a lot of money so trying to talk someone into buying a pair of jeans or an extra necklace always made me feel really guilty, I remember being a teenager on the very rare occasion I got to buy something from a store, and having to be really careful with my money, and pushy salespeople always made me feel like **** for buying the cheapest shirt in the store or something. So I slacked off on the customer service bit a lot, I figure people prefer to shop without a stranger on their shoulder anyway.

Tim's was also a lot of fun, but mostly because I had a core group of people who all worked the same shift, and we got along really well and worked great together. I'm still friends with a few of them. But switching to morning shift after I had my son made the job unbearable - it's all about the people you're working with honestly, they can make or break a job for you.

My first job was with McDonald's when I was 15 years old, I worked there until age 19. During college I worked with a medical insurance billing company. I got my degree in medical assisting, but never accepted a job as a medical assistant due to the low pay in my area for that position. Then I worked as a customer support representative with Save Mart grocery stores as a temp so it was just a short term job. Afterwards I worked for a gym which was great since it came with a free membership! Then in November 2014 I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force!

I did the same thing, went to college for Medical Office Administration but never worked as one. I wanted to do transcriptions, but no one hires transcriptionists anymore and the only work I could find was front desk personnel in clinics, which I did NOT want to do. Plus it only paid a dollar above minimum and I couldn't pay back my student loans on that kind of paycheque, so I went back to school to get my bachelor's.

Congrats on the Air Force!

All I had was a job at Hollister as a "model" lol, but I consider it associate. bad job.. got informally fired, not getting any hours for 3 weeks then having my account terminated to the website without notice, i called and no answer throughout that time. Oh well. Never went there or bought another thing from them, they made me buy a whole outfit for their new seasonal collections and I got fired right after without reason.

I teach high school English now with some freelance translation, but I've done teaching from daycare to university and business students since I was 19-20 or so. When I was a teenager I worked at a restaurant and babysat. I've also been a secretary, tech support person, and front-end web developer.

Let's see...started off working at a water park when I was in my early teens, a restaurant as a server/hostess, associate at a furniture/home accessories store, tutor, and a teacher's assistant. Looking for a new job now so I'll see where that takes me.

I got my first job (not counting babysitting) a couple of months ago.

My job was to go door-to-door trying to convince people to give a monthly donation to charity.

I quit pretty soon, discovering it wasn't for me. I didn't like my coworkers. They were very artificial. They would be super nice when they were talking to a "customer", but once the door was closed they made really nasty comments, even if the "customer" was really nice.

I also discovered I'm definitely introverted, while all my coworkers were extraverted. At day three I realised that this job was meant for extraverted people, so I quit. Now I'm gonna look for a new job, probably working as a warehouse employee (where I would work in the background and wouldn't have to deal with any customers).

I'm 18 years old, btw, so I'm just gonna go look for a vacation job to earn some extra money. Maybe if I save up enough, I'll be able to go travelling next year!
