I REALLY like natural paths that get made from people running back and forth that way all the time.
Soo cute.
I just don't have the patience for that. :c
I like paths, but my town right now is a mixture of path/no path areas. Generally I want my main routes marked with paths, and then little digressions off here and there that aren't necessarily marked by paths.
Though, I'll probably always have paths to/from retail and the beach, just because if I'm making 3-4 trips back and forth, I want to be able to run it.
I have qr paths. I like them better than natural paths since I hate looking at the dirt. It's nice in some towns since some people know how to make them look really nice but I just can't do it. Plus my town is modern so it's kinda needs that extra something to tie the natural stuff like flowers and clovers together with the modern buildings I have. Plus when people used to come into my town they would accidentally destroy flowers and so they are there as a guide to help people navigate. They also control where flowers spawn so that I don't have a massive hoard of them everywhere, although I technically do anyways lol
I really like them but I currently don't have a path because of the frustration of villagers moving on top of them. I think I might try to make one with a path again if I have the time, though.
i really like paths, especially natural looking ones. i'm using a few QR paths in my town and they're really cute and blend right in. i hate running around all over and wearing out the grass so having a designated area for me to run on makes things look a lot more cleaner.
I have paths, and I like them. If you ask me, they really give a unique vibe to your town- I don't think I've ever come across a town with two of the same paths.
I like and use paths, even tho I would prefer my town to have natural paths. I just can't seem to make them look good I guess >w<;
But I know many others have been able to make their towns breathtaking by using paths !
My town has the meager beginnings of a path right now, while I set up my mule character to hold all the QR codes / patterns for every other thing I wanna do, so I don't have to lose precious outfit space on my beloved mayor. :') I came into this game thinking I liked everything path-less, but there are just SO many possibilities and ways to customize your towns. The designs people have come up with since New Leaf was released - both for the QR pieces themselves (like the individual designs) and the way people have managed to make use of them - have so much potential and can really blow your mind and make your town feel like it's really your own.
I still have no clue how I'm going to plan things out - I need to get to sketching and scrutinize my town map quite a bit before I can say with certainty what kind of paths I like best. When I'm in other people's towns, if there's even the slightest bit of thought put into the placement, colors, etc of all the paths, it shows and makes such a huge difference. Now that's not to say I dislike towns without paths - that's not the case at all. It's just such an effective way of making your place unique and memorable. And of course that can be done without paths, but paths are, as one wise user already said, the icing on the cake
Not at the moment because I just reset and I haven't made a path-character yet.
It will soon and I love paths, I think (depending on what paths you choose) it can really make your town gorgeous.
Though there are some paths that are eyesores and I would never ever use.
But natural paths are also pretty, but the maintenance required is a whole lotta' nope.
I was going to put in paths originally, but instead, I've kinda given up and planted flowers -everywhere- instead. It encourages me not to run, and it just looks really pretty too, even with the random dirt patches everywhere that seems inevitable no matter how much stuff I put on top. One of these days, I might organize the flowers so that they actually match up to one another and maybe form paths that way, but my laziness tends to kick in then!
