What is usually the main reason you restart your town?

I recently restarted my town after a 3-year hiatus. I mainly wanted a clean slate.

In the past I've reset because I didn't like the layout of the town or wanted to change my mayor's name/face.

There is a few things that I will restart over. At first it was layout or badly placed pwp, but now I make sure not to do that. Also if I stop playing for a long time and my town gets out of hand. Or if I lose all my favorite villagers! I?m being extra careful on this town not to mess up so I can keep it. Working hard

I have not restarted. If I was not where I was progress-wise in my town, things that would have me considering a reset at the start would be not having my preferred station or town hall design, fruit type, building placements, beach placements, and general river and town layout. I am probably missing something, but those are the larger ones that come to mind for me; fruit being the biggest.

layout and placement. things like rocks and ponds and permanent pwps that you can't do anything except either accept that you have a disgusting looking town or start over lol

Either because I started a new town and never did anything with it and am not inspired to develop it further, or because I've done every thing I can possibly think of to keep the town interesting for me.

'Eugh god I hate where I put the permanent PWPs...' |D

I just restarted Stardust because of that and general layout issues, and I'm honestly considering restarting Callisto (which is about a year old in real time) because of similar issues... the more I've got a vision of the kinda town and such I want, the more I realize how some elements just may not be working out |D But then there's the desire to try and stay true and just... work with what you get...

The moment I felt envious of another town I didn't think twice & resetted. My town had to be the most beautiful and perfect in my eyes you know. Now that it currently is, I'm glad I resetted. Has been a year since completion and no matter how many dream towns I visit my feelings didn't change

Generally I restart my towns if one (or more) of the reasons are met:

1. Lack of motivation to continue and feel starting over will give me some motivation.
2. Realizing something isn't going to work out with what was planned.
3. Lack of time and returning a few weeks later and everything I had planned is ruined.
4. Spontaneous urge to restart.

Normally it's the first two.

One of the reasons why I restarted my town many many times was because I had the feeling
that I could find a better town. Even if the town I had in that time was already pretty good, I
still thought that I could find one which tops the one I have. Another reason was that some
things start to bother me, either it was the town fruit (I don't like pears ugh), the color of
the train station (not a big fan of the green one to be honest) or the way my town was
shaped at some parts. I also used to start over a new town when I got bored.

Now I started a new town a while ago and I don't have the desire to restart it as I really
like my current town (also I want to keep a town for a longer then just a few days lol).

The only reason I restarted my town is that when I got the game, I started playing for a short while before I got very busy with work and other obligations. I just kind of left it to collect dust for a long time. When I picked it up again I had no desire to even enter my old town as I had no memories of it at all. I only knew that I wasn't very far in, which made the decision more easy.
I haven't had my current town for very long and I've already grown very attached to it, despite some minor flaws. Honestly, if I want to make a new town I'd just get another copy of the game. It would be too much of a waste of all the hard work that's put into it.

I restarted my town at the start of Feburary mostly because I hadn't played in over a year and wanted to play again. When I used to play a lot I did also restart a few times, theres something so nice about seeing that fresh empty town and a new map. Another reason is I knew that I TT'd in my last town and did a lot of things that I considered a bit 'cheaty' and I didn't want to do any of that in my new game. Me and my friend restarted and we both pledged to not time travel and take it day by day and that was honestly one of the best decisions I made for me to keep the enjoyment. I now love my new town more than ever and its looking beautiful so far, it's still very new but I'm loving playing so much!

I dont think I could ever restart again, I have 2 villagers that I love to pieces in my town too and I just couldn't let them go.
