What is the fence town project used for?

I tried building the fence when I first got the game and I demolished it the next day as I couldn't think of anything creative to do with it. Does anyone know what you can do with the fence?

I've seen some people use it for their hybrids, but for the most part I've seen it used as either a dump or a drop zone for trades.

Put flowers inside it or put things that you are selling in there so when people come over it will be like a shop.

I use it for a dump although because it's so small my gold ores are usually found exploding out of it ._.

Well that's a plus, will they know its you and get upset with wishes to move?
Or do I keep throwing them in pitfalls and hitting them with butterfly nets

I use it when villagers move out, if I want to take over their real estate for a future park or project. It's nice and large, and makes it hard for a new neighbor to plop a house in the region. I put some flowers in it, and eventually replace it with a nicer project. I use the drilling rig the same way.

The best use for it I've come across is to keep new villagers from unexpectedly planting their houses in an inconvenient spot. By placing a fence to the left of my Town Hall, for instance, I've kept a nice spot open for any future PWP I'd rather put there. I'm just waiting for a villager to suggest a good one. The fence is cheap enough and covers a good amount of space.

In the meantime, I simply use it as a drop-off zone for items I need to move between characters.

Edit: Ah, basically the same as the post before me. xD

I'll paste this from the other PWP thread:

I placed the Fence behind the Town Hall to avoid a villager's home being placed there. I have it surrounded by trees (of course) and have baskets of fruit place inside. It looks like a harvest stand, and serves as the 'goto' for when my villagers request fruit. There are always batches of fresh (and perfect) fruit when needed without having to shake a tree or go to your pocket storage closets.

I just use it for hybrids, to be honest. I'm probably going to demolish it at some point, though, since it's not doing much other than that.

I had this idea when it first came out that it would be for resident's homes. As if you could choose where they can move in, but that idea was proven completely wrong.

It doesn't really do anything. It's what you make of it that is nice about it.
