.. The amiibo cards were not compatible with the next iteration of AC. Would you be angry or just satisfied with having your collection. I know it's unlikely, I just want to know your thoughts on the possibility.

Also, what are some of your ideas for functionality for the amiibo cards for the next game besides the ones it already has for New Leaf?

Well I would want to collect my favorite cards either way but I'd be really pissed if they are not compatible with the next or future games considering right now i'm trying to get the full collection. Hopefully a function will be moving in more than 10 villagers ;) haha no but seriously I think being able to invite over guests and build relationships with them (sort of like HHD but being able to have a relationship with the amiibo you invite to your house). Besides that I have no ideas haha.

Honestly I'm kind of assuming that's how they're going to do it. I'm not going to lie, I'd be pretty agitated! But things don't always stay operational over systems with Nintendo, their previous scan-able cards didn't last long, but they also weren't nearly as successful as amiibo, so there's certainly some hope! I'll be happy with my collection regardless~ I already feel kind of blessed that they expanded new leaf and made a public statement that the 3ds will continue to be a main device for quite a while longer.

Since we know that the Switch scans amiibos I think they're going to keep building it into the games. I think they'll work in future games unless the next AC is really far off and amiibos have actually been dropped. But if it's 3DS or Switch I think they'll keep it.

I'd still be satisfied because they're still useful for something even if it is for a past game but tbh, it doesn't look likely that i'll be getting the switch anytime soon anyway even if a new iteration of AC does come out for it. So chances are i'll still be using ACNL so it won't be much of a bother whether they'll come in handy or not. I can completely understand why some people may be a bit peeved if it's the case though. But on the bright side at least we were given functionality in the first place because imo originally using those cards for just for a spin-off was a wasted opportunity tbh especially if there was time involved in making them. Although I do think that Nintendo will make use of the assets they have for the series (in this case the amiibo) it just seems like something they've always done.

I wouldn't really care. I'll keep playing ACNL for a long time, and its highly likely that the next AC's gonna be on the Switch, which...isn't looking too hot, to say the least: overpriced, experimental, and unwieldy- not to mention the paid online services! Is the Switch even going to have amiibo support? It doesn't matter, since an AC game won't be out first thing.

The amiibo characters are €16,- each here in my country. I don't have any, but if I had completed the entire collection, I would not be happy if they would not continue them into the next game. It's basically my reason for not buying them in the first place.

If there is going to be amiibo's in the next ac, I would like them to sell items for regular currency. The MEOW coupons are only a good idea because the amiibos were introduced so late after the game came out and everyone was already rich. I'd also like the items to be orderable, or at least retrievable from somewhere.

I have all the amiibos, amiibo cards and the sanrio ones.
If they made new cards and mine didn't work I wouldn't be happy.
That's a lot of money spent.

I wouldn't mind because I don't collect them. Even if I do, I still won't mind because I have a complete set of cards/figurines that I could keep.
