What if Animal Crossing became an RPG?

After a rainy night, the full moon arrives and awakens the gyroids! Their new animated bodies are tired of being stuck underground, and they band together to harass the animals and take over the animal forest! When the mayor hears the news, he (or she) comes to the rescue!

-Travel the whole animal forest and rescue fellow neighbors from the gyroids!
-Rescued animals join your party! Each have their own powers, and depending where you are, you'll find penguins in the snow, and bunnies in a spring meadow!
-Use your tools to advance through the forest!
-Eat fruit to replenish health and try candy to become invincible! Non-seasonal fruit replenishes all HP, and perfect fruit does that AND doubles attack power!
-Boss battles include taking down the gyroids and stopping them from possessing the working villagers!
-Colorful environments represent each season in the forest!
-The only good gyroid left is Lloid, and he'll be happy to save the game for you in the pause menu.
-Spend your bells in Timmy and Tommy's shop to buy essential items!
-Isabelle will send you letters with advice when you're stuck!
-When the battle's done, bury the gyroids with your trusty shovel to make sure they won't harm another animal!

It's up to the mayor to rescue the villagers and put an end to the awakened gyroids!

What do you guys think? Just a thought I had.

I played games like these before. They are fun. I bet AC would be good even as an RPG.

If it were a different series sure, Animal Crossing isn't meant to be an action game.

That's a super cute and awesome idea. I would totally buy it if that was an actual game. Maybe add love lines to pair villagers or pair yourself with villagers since some people on here seem to have a villager boyfriend/girlfriend lol. Nintendo get to it!

What about hiring villagers as party members? e.x. Sterling as the warrior type, Bob as the black mage, etc.

Each personality could have different powers, kinda like what PlasmaPower was saying, but for personality groups. You could have one of each in your party!

Like Lazy villagers could be thieves, Jocks could be fighters, Snooty could be mages, Uchi are healers, Normal could be like a jack of all trades, Cranky as rogues, Peppy as bards, Smug as assassins, and you are the leader of them all!

This would be amazing, but I also agree with Rebeth13. AC isn't a RPG, it's just an cute, little game. :3

I thought it was an RPG, I mean all you do is take the role of mayor, talk to villagers everyday, lose health by getting stung by bees, get it back with medicine, and quest on the island! LOL

I like this idea because animal crossing isn't meant to be an action game! It adds a unique surprising touch that you'd never in a million years expect.

I like this idea! I didn't even think of asking villagers to join your party.

Its gonna be super weird if Animal Crossing has an RPG game. I'm sorry, but i'm gonna have to disagree.

Its unnatural for an Animal Crossing game to become an RPG, I prefer everything like it should.

Like you said, you prefer how things are now, and that's totally fine. True, it would be very different if a game as cute as Animal Crossing became an adventure, and a couple people said that it wouldn't really work with this game, but for something else. Different doesn't necessarily mean bad, but I think it would be cool idea. :)

It may never happen, but if it did i'm not gonna buy it. UNLESS! If you can import you mayor into the game, then i'd get it.

A man can dream. Like I dream that the Villager from Mario Kart 8 to have a voice, and it'll be Josh Keaton. But it might not happen though, mostly because the Villager from Super Smash Bros doesn't speak at all! But we can dream.
