What happens if you invite in a villager who's already in your town?

So if I have Julian in my town already, then I visit a town with Julian in boxes, will they still ask to move in?

I've been thinking about this myself. But since I've not seen any town with double of their fav villager, I'm sure you won't get the choice to ask them to join. Like with people in the tent, you can talk to them but won't ask about moving.

They would probably just make small talk, and there would be no option to ask them to move in. ^_^

Makes sense, since the campsite villagers do the same when you have no room for new villagers.
