what exactly is voiding?

i have an idea of what it is but i don't really fully grasp it.
sorry, i probably should know this by now, but can someone explain it to me?

Letting a villager move out without finding someone to get that villager to move to their town.

ah, that makes sense. people can take villagers from your void, right? because that's happened with chops, rooney and cyrano.
is there a time limit before the villager is gone forever? or something?

Generally visiting a town that has ten villagers in it will clear your void.

okay, good to know! i'll make sure to do that if i ever have a nasty villager leave my town ^^
