What Does Original Villager Mean?

People keep saying that this or that villager is not or is original.. What does that mean?

if their house looks exactly like it does when they first moved in, theyre original. if not, theyre not original and not worth as much to people whod like them to have their original furniture in tact!
edit; i forgot to include that this also applies to their catchphrase, greeting (?) and clothing.

House, Catch phrase, shirt, everything is the same as if they just moved in that day. It's hard to maintain if they're in your town for a long time and you interact with them/they have time to interact with other villagers.
