So recently I’ve been super bored of my town (Town, not Moonbeam) and I’ve been thinking of getting rid of it and starting over but I’m super conflicted. I’ve had this town since like 2014 and I’ve put a lot of effort into it but it all just seems useless at this point, the town seems stale and dull to me I just finished a cute park in the middle of town but I just don’t feel satisfied with the rest of town, I tried to start to remodel it but things just don’t seem to be going very well with that. I’ve got some great villagers and I love them to bits which makes it harder to start over. (One of them recently showed me a letter I wrote to them a few years ago promising I’d never leave the town or abandon them which makes it even harder lol)

My question is what do you think I should do? If I keep it what do you suggest I do to make the town feel more complete/enjoyable?

Could you perhaps sell it? I understand that this would men giving the town up,
but it would give you a boost along with a fresh start, with endless possibilities! On the other had, I do totally understand the feeling of not wanting to abandon a town, it has happened to me many times. Have you tried taking a break? That is always a viable option, which I am actually currently doing. I gives you a break from the game, and a time to relax, possibly brainstorm ideas, ect. If anything, you could scour the inter-web for inspiration and motivation. For me, watching people's Let's Play's, looking on Tumblr, scrolling through Pinterest, or even just relaxing on bell tree forums has given me inspiration and motivation in the past! i hope I have helped, and that you make a decision that will leave you happy. (P.S. I hope your day goes great!)

I'm in the same boat as you right now trying to decide to keep it or restart.. Like the previous poster said it might help to take a little break and see how you feel when you come back. But if you're uninspired or bored with your current town it might be better to restart in my opinion? Then you have a fresh start to make it into something you like even more :) Plus with the convenience of amiibo cards these days you can always get your old villagers back in your new town !! Thats what I've been leaning towards with mine at least, as sad as it is to let it go a fresh start will allow more inspiration to flow :) But if you do decide to keep it maybe exploring some dream towns can help spark some inspiration too !!

If I were to restart I would definitely sell it so I?d have a lot of bells for development in the new town. Maybe I will take a break from that town for a while and see what I think when I return, also it wouldn?t hurt to scour the internet for inspiration I just might do that! Thanks for your suggestions! (Thanks for the compliment on my sig! It was made by Ariane :))

I want to restart and I understand how easy(ish) it would be to get the villagers back because of amiibo cards but they just wouldn?t be the same villager ya know? Like I?ve spent a whole lotta time talking with and molding the ones I have now and they?re less programmed and more like real beings with their own personalities if that makes sense? Like I had Bam, lost him in a TT accident and I got a new Bam from one of my friends but it just doesn?t feel the same he doesn?t act the way my original Bam used to it?s like he?s a completely different guy :/ I?ll have to find some dream towns to check out like you said, thanks for your suggestions!

I don't know to what extent you have tried remodeling your town, but here is what I would try: Go drastic! Since you love your villagers, and are happy with your new park, I would cut down every single tree (except any that are in your park) and demolish every single demolish-able PWP that isn't part of your park. You might even want to get rid of your flowers, or at least move hybrids to your beach for a while, and get rid of 'standard' flowers. Now you'll be left with your beloved villagers, your cool new park, AND you still have the option to build any PWPs you've already unlocked--for me, that's the biggest drag when starting a new town. Now you can really see what you want to do/have room to do, and you can start to plant and rebuild.

Sure, it will cost a fair amount of bells to demolish and rebuild PWPs, but the only real way to have a fresh start in areas you're not happy with is to clear things out. Then you can see those parts of your town from a new perspective. I basically did this with my main town, and I have been much more satisfied with things since then. Plus I know what you mean about villagers not feeling the same if they're not "yours." :)
