What do you want to see in the NX?

I want to see another gimmick. It'll probably be a lot more mainstream than the wii u gamepad (because that worked out well right guys?) but I would like to see something that is different to the xbox or playstation. It wouldn't be Nintendo otherwise. :)

No more gimmicks, pleeeease! I don't even care about 3rd party support or next gen graphics. All I want is for Nintendo to focus on the one thing that they're better than everyone else at; making awesome games!

Splatoon 2 and a Splatoon themed version as part of its release promotion.

I'd like to see Nintendo creating a system that can double as a home console and handheld. Not only it'll make game development easier in general, but it also means that we won't need to buy two systems just to enjoy everything Nintendo has to offer. The Wii U GamePad could've done that in theory, but it's officially stuck in the living room instead.

I don't think that the upcoming generation is worth introducing another forced gimmick where the company will have a hard time capitalizing on it, which was pretty much how Wii U fared as a whole and maybe the later years of the Wii era. There are a very few games that utilized it quite well, but those are mostly limited to 2012 and early 2013, along with Splatoon, Mario Maker and Star Fox Zero. Even Nintendo didn't bothered much with Wii U GamePad's unique features for far too long than I'd like to admit. I believe that this is why third-party developers stopped caring Wii U and the system could possibly end up selling less than GameCube did (around 20 millions units sold). At this point, I don't think there's a new technology I know that's worth integrating in a future Nintendo system in the coming years.

I just want amiibo compatibility and animal crossing. Not too much to ask for.

Honestly, just good games. I could care less about the actual system as long as there are good games.

  • Not much glossyness on the console
  • Wii U backwards-compatibility
  • Virtual Console services on Day 1
  • Backwards-compatibility with all Wii U and Wii controllers (Off-TV Play optional)
  • Region-free
  • Has a storage space of 250GB at the minimum
  • Is as or more powerful as the PS4 and Xbox One combined
  • Compatibility with Nintendo's Next Handheld to allow for Off-TV Play from afar.
