What do you think of the in-game Mom?

The in-game mom is such an under appreciated character.
Though the player's mother is never seen and only known through occasional letters,
She's a real enigma to some and to others, she's not really an evident character.
I really enjoy reading her letters as she has the personality of a bubbly individual.

What do you think of the Mom? Do you happen to have a favorite letter from her~?

I personally like getting her letters as it makes it feel more realistic? like you've actually moved away and became mayor of some town. The gifts she sends are nice sometimes, especially the carnations!

It's kind of weird when your Mom actually plays the game and sends you letters, since that's what I have. However she isn't named Mom so it doesn't really matter. In City Folk she named herself Mom so it was kind of weird. But the Mom in the game is pretty cool and her gifts are sometimes great. I wish you could send letters to her. That would be cool.

I like getting letters from her because she makes me think of my real mom lol.

I try to save most of the ones she sends so I don't really have a favorite. Although the one about "I saw your house in a dream and it looks like you're living a nice life" or whatever it exactly says is one of the ones I like the most.

I remember the first time I ever got a letter from her I though she was an actual game character and that I could send letters to her. I was really disappointing when I found out I couldn't haha. I really wish you could interact with your mom and dad in Animal Crossing.

I don't usually save the letters she sends me. I love it when she or Dad send out carnations though!

I think it's really sweet for your mom in the game to send letters, makes it more realistic

I wish she wasn't there because I personally find her so annoying with her spamming letters and being too bloody nice and over protective, ugh! I prefer the dad, he's cool

The mom in my game is sorta like my mom in real life...

I love how you get letters from your mom in the game, I think it was always a really nice touch. But I do feel sad when my mom will write something and I really want to reply, but I can't. Oh well, it's still a nice feature that they've kept.

I actually really dislike the inclusion of the ingame parents. It's jarring to me that I receive letters from them occasionally but we can never communicate back and forth, and never see them, so they're just these faceless beings out there in the nether as far as I'm concerned. I would rather receive mails like those from characters we get to interact with.

I think it's a nice touch but I wish there was more interaction with her besides just her sending letters but Animal Crossing is supposed to be open ended and I get why some people wouldn't want to do interaction with her because that's just their play style.

i actually get rly sad when i get letters from her, esp the ones where she says she misses me or she looked up at the night sky and thought of me. it makes me think of my RL mom i guess and when she says she misses me.

It's kinds nice getting letters and gifts from "Mom". Would be nice to get more from "Dad", i mean he barely writes, what like once a year or something lol

I don't think they should have included them. I don't really see the point because on one hand they want you to be this omnipotent mayor that takes care of all the animal villagers but on the other hand your supposed to be this little kid??

I also don't understand how it fits into the game's universe because if there are "humans" in this game, then why are you living with these animal villagers and not with your parents? Plus the only other humans we see are other kid mayors living far away from their parents.

WHO are these AWFUL parents who are letting all the kids go live far away with a bunch of strange animals while juggling political and financial responsibilities that many adults can't even do right.


...but I guess it's cool when she sends you hybrid flowers and unorderables
