What do you think of Pascal?

I think he's okay but I wish we could do more with him, like maybe do a little event where we catch fish and he'd give us an unique item, like a trophy or something like that. Honestly this update feels a little bit hollow

I think it's meant to be hollow. Seeing as there will be a Wave 2 update a month after, it's likely rather than have us wait until August, Nintendo gave us diving a month early, especially since we haven't had an update since April 23.

I love his personality, and I love watching him swim away. If you follow him you can see him nibbling on the scallop you gave him. I think he's supposed to be a bit more elusive and have an aura of mystique around him, so I am fine with the way our interactions go. And he's giving me a whole set of furniture, which is way better than a trophy or a bunch of random items that mostly don't seem to have a good use (still trying to figure out what I might do with a termite mound...)

I mean, he's definitely better than Label, as he's giving me stuff I will actually use lol. More than half of what Label gives me goes straight into the trash can.

I also followed him on the edge of the nets and saw him breaking open and eating the scallop I gave him. I love it when Nintendo applies real-world habits on animals on this game.

I like that he's a character you can see everyday, no matter what else was going on (KK concert, other NPC, etc). ! I'm not sure I'm crazy about getting pearls rather than DIYs, especially since you can catch them on your own. I'd like him a whole lot better if he gave an item/DIY each time until you had them all and then gave the pearls. I think he's cute and I love the little words of wisdom he has to say everyday!

He gives you DIYs for a pretty furniture set and the clothes are pretty! He gives you a rare material too. Already better than Guillvar who only gives hats to me and waaaay better than Label's hideous clothing line.

Pascal is one of my favourite NPCs and I've always loved his furniture and used it in my houses going back to the Wild World days. Love following him as he swims away.

I love him, he's one of my favourite NPCs, I always look forward to him popping up for some scallops (he swims next to the railing afterwards and you can even see him nibble on it). He's precious.

I don't really care about the mermaid furniture at all...but, I've always loved Pascal as a character.

He's a perfect match for my own personality, and I love his little truth bombs. Maaaaaaan. Hahaha.

I didn't really interact with him in previous games, but I really like him so far. It's also nice to have a NPC that isn't a random visitor.
