I have this hounds-tooth midi pencil skirt and wore it with suspenders and converses-- fun outfit! The 50s hoop skirt and the A-line midi skirt are also trendy too.

As much as I adore a retro mini skirt once in awhile, I believe you should not wear a skimpy school girl skirt to feed other people's personal fantasy. Wear whatever you're comfortable with.
