I was thinking about this today actually. There are always so many threads about what people DON'T like and what they wish was changed or what should be updated in the next version. I feel like every new version that comes out just gets torn apart like no one is happy with it for long. Personally I LOVE NL! I think it is amazing and even the things everyone complains about I don't generally mind so much!
I love the customization options and the ability to share patterns by qr. I love the new personalities even when the smugs start to act creepy. I ADORE public works projects and the ability to really DEVELOP the town in a way that you just couldn't do before, it makes it feel like the game has more of a purpose. I love the island. I love being able to give/receive villagers with other players. I love being able to message friends you aren't currently visiting. I love Isabelle and Digby. I love the happy home showcase and Club LOL. I love the joke book as opposed to being stuck with only a few of the full list of emotes! I love that they introduced two new species in this version. I love that they included new flower types and bushes in NL! And new fruits and bamboo!
I seriously love this game.
Yes, there are things that would be cool if they updated in the next version, that's the point of making a new version every couple years right? To change the experience slightly. But I think they did a great job adding to and combining elements from earlier versions and adding new things. I hope they spend more time on the next version and it isn't a rush job like CF, and the wait will be ok because you know what? NL is pretty darn good and totally worth playing through the release of the next.

I like how nice the villagers look and how the character looks, instead of short and round like in the past. I also love Isabelle and I wouldn't imagine the game is she was taken out, also the pwp's it give a nice and creative touch to your town! The Idea that you're the mayor is great! I love how you get off the train and get greeted by your villagers and Isabelle and how you get to plant the town tree and have it progress along with the rest of your town, slowly shedding the villagers and making room for new ones. I also love some villagers they added in this one too, like Julian and Skye for instance. I love how tall every thing is now! I also like how Isabelle is in the town plaza when events are there, or a special character. April fools day when you get the animals pictures easily is great! This game is very nice overall, this is my first animal crossing game anyways, so who knows if previous ones are better or not.
