What Do You Look for in a Map?

I like a south facing waterfall, and being able to place bridges so I have an unobstructed path I can run straight from the dock to the train station area.

Yess!! The placement of your villagers houses (and yours) are also really nice. uvu

That's actually how they set themselves up. Two left, two moved into nearly the identical place. Except Felicity under the cafe there. But she'll be moving in the future (didn't have a choice in that move in, she was a void from my boyfriend's town).

/)v(\ Ahhh I love everyone's towns, even if some of them personally aren't my taste! I really like how everyone prioritizes differently, it's sooooo neat!!! I don't think I've ever had a river like the one in Arkham before, but I'm pleased with it! The hugeass lake next to Retail makes it a little annoying to get to, but honestly it's fine. I usually adapt to things pretty easily x) Thank you all for telling me about your maps! :D It's so interesting to hear!!

Funny how that works out, huh? They placed themselves really well. :P

I never reset for my town map, but I think I actually got a pretty good one!

It's a long, winding, horizontal river with some nice bends. My house is located at one of those! The Re-Tail is across the bridge, but I'm fine with the location because it's pretty nice. My Town Square, Gate, and Town Hall are all near the top where I placed my Cafe, which is awesome!

Also, I have a pretty long beach and a private beach area by the bridge.

-Ocean has to be on the west side.
-Private island
-Native peaches
-Small river
-River has to be as straight as possible
-Maximum of 2 ponds
-Brown or red train station
-Town hall needs to be near a river or cliff
-Retail can not be near a river or cliff, hopefully in the middle of the land its on
-Rocks in acceptable spots(not blocking plans for paths or anything)
-A good place to have my home
-Square or triangle grass
-NO monkeys, can't stand looking at them, not even for a second...
That's my long list of pickiness!:3

How long did it take you to get what you wanted?

- Relatively straight river
- Any fruit except oranges
- Re-Tail close to the beach (I wanted this because of beetle/shark hunting, but I never do it anymore so it doesn't matter)

But I picked the first map I got because I didn't know about map resetting... but the map I got is pretty good. :>

I like a map:
without a private beach
with:
Re-tail halfway between train station and the dock
south facing lower waterfall
2 or 3 ponds
open area infront of City Hall (so I can put a fountain there)
Plaza & City Hall near each other and at the top half of the map
tucked away area for the campsite to be built

I was pretty lucky in both of my towns. In only one of them is Re-tail a little to far south, but I've made the most of it.
Really glad you could choose between several maps before picking.
