What Do You Look for in a Map?

the grass is haunting me what does it mean
I'll take the little teensy U shaped ones if it's all I can get, but those straight rivers really are important to me. And yeah, I feel you on the plaza being away from the tracks... I sorta like it on the bottom half, actually.

I JUST SAID WHAT THE GRASS MEANS >:T

When I saw your last thread... I had a feeling no matter what anyone said, you'd be buying a 5th. XP

RETAIL MUST BE CLOSE TO TRAIN STATION!!!
That is really my only serious requirement...
In my old town I did a lot of turnip spikes and premiums... and my old town has it literally right next to it... my new one has it pretty close, but I would like it closer.

I, also, want to have all the places, town hall, plaza, and re-tail close to one another... just looks nicer to me... but wasn't really required a whole lot.

Next is I HATE the green roof and how the furniture looks in the town hall with a green roof ((of course my cycle has that...)) ... so anything but green. Luckily in my new town I got a brown ((my fave =3)).

Native fruit wasn't a big deal to me... for my new town I wanted it to either have apples, cherries, or peaches...
But, if I got pears or oranges I would have been ok really. Happy I got apples, though. =3

Grass pattern never really was important to me... I think I got circle but now I can't remember. XP

OH OMG THAT'S COOL
I NEVER EVEN LOOK AT THE GROUND CLOSE ENOUGH TO NOTICE OMFG
MAYBE I SHOULD???

Why :c I just found like the perfect map....

But there's a stupid lake right in front of the train station

i had no willpower once i saw the pricedrop. IT WAS OVER.......... sobs

Interesting that you like the brown roof! I actually hate it omfg. I like blue a lot, but since I have 5 towns I need diversity hahaha
The only reason I'm whiny about my fruit now is because I technically COULD have a town with each type of fruit, but can't now that I have double pears :C so I'm really hoping for apples or oranges just because I don't have them. If I get pears again I might cry

I doubt I'll care about grass pattern even though I know what it means now sorta, but I really can't give myself too many restrictions u,u

I HAD THAT ONCE TOO, AND SAVANNAH WAS IN THAT MAP AND EVERYTHING
I HAD TO RESET BECAUSE I COULDN'T HANDLE 3 LAKES IN A ROW it was terrible.
lakes in front of the train station are no

gasp. no wonder. i should look at my towns more closely, just because im curious now omg

I'm pretty sure she noticed seasonal changes. xD

NO NO he was pointing out the fact that I literally did not notice any sort of pattern on my grass/snow because I'm stupid omfg so I'm actually a little intrigued to look now!

Star snow is really cool. -had triangle in old town-

Most of the resets I did either gave me brown or green and sometimes red... I didn't get to really experience the blue. =<
... Maybe when I reset my cycle town I'll aim for a blue roof. >D

I do hate that both my new town and my cycle town has apples... that has to change when I reset the cycle town. >.>

Please tell me where you find the time to play 5 copies? what do you do with all your copies?
are they all hard copies or do you have downloaded as well?

My first town has a long river that comes all the way out, goes all the way back and down to create a kind of island in the middle of the map. The only thing I don't like about it is that it needs one more bridge than you can have at max in the game. Otherwise its a nice little central park area with the plaza on the far left (near the cliff and just below the water falls from the cliff and above the water falls to the beach!) it makes a private beach that I have my house right in front of and only one other animal could live above me (usually my 'bestie'). I have all my shops, town hall etc ALL in a line at the very top of the map. It kind of makes another high/main street. I have retail, then brewsters to the left of my train station and the town hall and booker to the right. I would have put the camp on the far left if I could but decided to make another feature with it down in the bottom right corner near the beach with my mule character. I only have one pond. (sorry for wall of text). I like this layout since I have a relatively simple town with hardly any PWP's. drawbacks are not enough bridges, retail so far away from the island pier, not a heap of room for PWP's. Cons, Everything is in a nice row at the top! I have a private park and great access to the town square (which I love because its so pretty there and I see all the visitors straight away). All my townies tend to congregate in the park lands in the centre and its cute. easy layout of paths.

In my second town I have retail right next to the pier, and two ponds. the clif is on the right side rather than the left side. I have a river that runs half way down and then cuts south near the middle of the map, the town hall mid of the map far left. I wanted to try out a simpler map with things a bit different to what I have in the first town. So far I like it! If I could I would re-start my first town and have it exactly the same but with a river cutting it in the centre.

I would also like to try out one of the towns that has a plaza right in the middle of the map with the river running around it. But I would love to have all my shops and town hall up the top again if I could.

Re -tail and the town hall have to be either vertically or horizontally parallel. They also have to be on the upper half of town, near the train station, either both on one side of the gate close to eachother, or on opposite sides, an equal distance from the gate. If they are on the same side, the re-tail pond has to be in between them.

Town hall needs a dark blue roof and the train station needs a green or orange one. I hate ponds so I only want one.

River has to be horizontal and straight for at least 3/4 of it. House goes in the section that isn't straight (preferably surrounded on two sides by river and cliff on one side, but I gueeeeess I can live with it being surrounded by the river on three sides, but only if it's in the center of the map. Also, the river had to divide the town so 2/3 of the town is above it and 1/3 of the town is below it.

Beach has to be on the right and bottom sides of the map. I hate private beaches unless they are extremely large.*

I prefer bad villagers so I can plot reset so the good ones are in good places. Obviously I won't reset if the villagers are good though.

Rocks can not interfere with straight paths of land where I want to put streets of villagers.

I looove triangle grass, but I guess square grass is okay. Circle grass is ugly ewwww.

I hate orange, peach and apple trees. Unfortunately my town has oranges, but it's awesome enough to not reset. Oh well, I don't like perfect fruit that much so I'll just use imperfect foreign fruit.

Town tree goes on the side of the gate that retail and the town hall aren't on. If they're on opposite sides, it can go somewhere on the bottom half I guess.
