I'm sort of loosing inspiration for my island. I guess cause I'm not sure what to even fill it with anymore LOL

I've seen orchards, residential areas, farmers markets, etc!

But what do you guys fill your island with? Or do you have any special areas?

Right now I have a shopping district, residential area, orchard and flower garden/breeding area. I plan on adding a park, a cafe area and a sitting area near my residential area. We have also talked about adding a concert area/music area for our villagers who like to sing, but we haven't yet.

so far, i have:

shopping district
funfair/carnival
mermaid cove
beach hangout
flower garden
orchard (soon)

and i’ll probably make a residential area near rs ;u;

i have an area based on the garden from howls moving castle ♡
also i have a picnic park, a play park, a bamboo garden, a market place, a graveyard, a campsite, a fishing spot, 2 snazzy beach areas and a fruit shop with loads of fruit trees

I’m gunna include: a shady alleyway to redd’s private’s beach, an elegant water fountain garden, have my rocks all in one place, a restaurant, a cake/tea place, outdoor reading space, sky garden/star gazing area, fun fair, fruit orchid, shopping district, resident village area, zen garden

Here's my island entrance. I fill it with benches, mini-gardens, etc.
"If the space is too small for anything, add a bench!"

Here's a cool cafe I made! I had no space to put houses or shops so I made my own!

Here I filled in empty space with bike racks and kimono stands. In the back I did a double waterfall with a lounge area.

Anyways, hope you like my ideas! I have tons of other areas (fitness room, orchards, money rock spots), but I don't think I can cover them all in one post.

Aside from the stores and neighborhood, I have a campsite area, a nature trail, a zen garden/lake, an outdoor gym, a fish market, a beach, and a fountain park. Still working on my island and thinking of more ways to fill up my island but without being too crowded.

Mountains and verticality of any sort is always good to add to break up the atmosphere and add unique views to your island!

- Residential area (takes up a good portion of the right side of my island since every villager has a yard)
- Duck pond and picnic area
- Shopping district
- Town Center (different from Resident Services)
- Outdoor Cafe
- Indoor Cafe (in spare character's house)
- Public Beach

Each of my areas is pretty huge so I don't have than many:
  • residential area for my deer villagers
  • separate residential areas for rory and spike
  • downtown/shopping area
  • windflower garden (to honor my local flower)
  • fruit forest (since I didn't want an orchard)
  • farm (for turnip storage)
  • crafting corner
  • and way too much beach space that I'm still working on filling

I've got the following:
Flower garden
Memorial garden
Museum courtyard
Boardwalk
Piano and Harp Stage
Concert Stage
Beach Gym
Tanning area
Resting Area
Shopping Area
Main Residential
Kids Residential
Fossil Park
Tricycle Racetrack
Carnival Area
Private Hybrid Garden
Fishing Spot
Two Orchards

Holy cow, listed out it looks like a lot, but it all makes sense on an island called ExIsle.

It’s incomplete, but
  • Park
  • Hot spring
  • Beach cafe/ resturant
  • Shell themed bar
  • Shopping district
  • Museum area

I'm giving each one of my villagers a front yard to spice up the island a little. Carrie wins for having the biggest front yard lol. Other than that, I don't really have a sense of direction of where to go next. I could make a small forest, make an orchard, or whatever else comes to my mind.

i’m planning to have a castle, a french garden, a cemetery, and a little area for black market dealings c:

thanks for making this! i was looking to make a thread like this and wasn't sure if it was a thing already and i just wasn't paying attention😅

as much stuff i put on my island, i still have a giant empty space that i have no idea what to do with

Some of the things I've been working on: a farm, a Jurassic Park themed cafe, a memorial garden, a Godzilla disaster zone and I just recently moved all my villagers to a giant villager mountian area that's lacking themes/landscaping at the moment. I'm also trying to figure out how to incorporate some kind of interesting flower garden, because Isabelle demands more flowers (which unfortunately clash with my trash bag / disaster movie themes).

At the moment I have 2 cafes, an outdoor library, playground with a gaming area, swimming pool/resort area.
I am trying to move one of my cafes next to the outdoor library area. Will be redoing my villagers' house area later when I've done more terraforming.

Right now, I have:

A light forest-like themed entrance (but not really) that leads to the museum.
Museum that kind of looks like a park (near the entrance).
The museum also has a waiting area and a little amusement area/food stall in front
A terraformed wall on my Resident Service and a fountain surrounded by tiny waterfalls.
Outdoor bath/little zen area beside my house
Beach side bar/cafe in front of Nook's and Audie's house.
Also, a parking lot/car showcase on the same beach.
Mini-playground areas near the big cafe.
The big outdoor cafe near my heart pond at the back of Merengue's house that connects to the amusement center with music/band area.
A resting area with swimming pool and a little picnic area with cushions.
Tropical-themed resting area on top of the highest waterfall at the center of my map.
Small resting area with rocks.
Diner area near my secret beach.
Garden that overlooks the lighted parking area.
Farm with a pair of silo(s) built.
Maze-like formation on the way to the turbines.
Then the place where I built the turbines, solar panel and antenna then an incline that goes down to a path to diana's house.
Little laundry area, sewing a coffee near her place.
Bamboo resting place by the beach and a bamboo picnic area beside Lily's house
Campsite area
Outdoor presidential suite like area near my big center waterfall.
Soccer/Sport area and Drawing/Painting school by the beach.
Lighthouse on my peninsula.
Then another picnic by the beach area in front of my house (I love picnic lol).

I posted this somewhere but figured I repost my favorite areas here
